(ex: power ups such as the tanuki leaf,expect 1-ups, also when using a power-up such as the cat bell 🔔 he needs to be hurt to lose it just like Mario) when breathing fire he can make any sort of it but doing so for an extended period of time will cause you emit smoke forcing a cool down, going further and you will start to cough up a bit blood.
