Jackie had told them everything while Melanie made some tea for her friends.
She waited for them to laugh at her and mock her, but eventually, Emma nodded as William talked.
"All right then," he smiled "how can we help?"
Melanie put the tea cups on the wood table.
"Jackie said we need to adopt a dog." Melanie respond and Emma laughed.
"Jackie, can you really stan a dog in here? Last week you almost called the police when that poor street dog came to smell you."
Jackie took a sip from her tea
"almost" she said angrily.
William smiled fondly at his friend "maybe you guys should skip on this one just for now-"
Jackie shook her head "I'm about to make all Mel's dreams come true. If you like it or not. The last time I saw her happy was when Vinnie took her on a date. A month ago. I want her to be happy." Jackie closed her eyes and then opened them, to see Melanie tearing at her words.
Melanie took Jackie's hand and whispered a weak 'thank you'.
She loved Jackie.
"Well ,dog it is." Emma sighed "but we're coming with you."
Melanie frowned "guys-"
"I didn't asked" Emma smiled.
Now Melanie really cried "I love you guys" she said shakily.
They hugged her tightly, they knew how emotional their friend was.
After a massive pillow fight and a trashy romantic movie they heard a knock on the door.
"Is that the pizza?" William asked hopefully
"Let's pray ,Will" Emma said sarcastically.
Melanie rushed to the door, taking her purse to pay the pizza guy.
It wasn't him.
"Vinnie!" Melanie cried and jumped on him.
He hugged her tightly and pressed a soft kiss on her chick "Hey Mel, " he whispered "brought you some flowers."
As she grabbed the roses from him
she felt her heart melts.
"Come in," she said, shooking her head to wake herself up from her dizziness.
"Hey guys!" Vinnie called to the others, who came quickly and hugged him.
"Hey Vinn" Jackie smiled.
"Let's get this party started!" Emma yelled.
Melanie felt so happy.

The next day, Melanie , Jackie, William and Emma went to see the dogs
("or cats" as melanie suggested).
Vinnie couldn't make it for some reason.
"Wow". William said as they passed so many barking puppies in cages.
"You know,"
Melanie said while looking at the puppies.
"I once had a dog, but I had to choose between the dog and my rabbit, and I hand him to my friend to keep him.. and then one day we found his head in the back yard."
Everyone went silent.
I guess that wasn't so cheery melanie thought and frowned.
"Then why did you wanted another dog?"
Emma finally asked, confused.
"I really wanted a dog that would be mine, not the cause for my rabbit's death a true friend. A sweet animal that I wouldn't be alone." Melanie explained.
"But, oh well, I guess Jackie is enough." She shrugged and William laughed.
"Ooh look at this one!" Jackie said, ignoring melanie.
The puppy she looked on was a brown and tiny, with sweet barks and curly fur and a black wet nose.
"Oh my.. it's adorable!" Emma melted.
Melanie smiled at her new friend.
"Hi" she whispered.
And the puppy gave her a happy look with his big black sparkly eyes.
She felt connection to the puppy Immediately.

"Welcome home Christoph!"
"Christoph? Really?" Melanie chuckled.
William nodded "looks like Christoph." He noted.
"Definitely ,Christoph" Emma agreed.
Melanie rolled her eyes. Morons.
The dog, Christoph, barked happily and run all over the house.
Melanie looked around, on her laughing friends and her little pet friend.
She won't be alone.
