"Macbeth, please don't kill me." "Why should I not?" Mack whispered, confused why his friend wasn't uttering the right words on stage. "I will kill you, Duncan!" Mack roared. But suddenly, the lights were off, and it was all dark inside the theatre.

Lucy's heart dropped into her stomach, she clenched on to the shoulder of the man next to her. He let out a shy chuckle and gripped her hand firmly.

"It's alright, Lucy, probably a power outage," he said.

"One hell of a time to have it, don't you think?"Her eyes darted scanning the equally surprised audience. Tension gripped the theatre as hustling feet filled the utter silence. Lucy tugged the man and he averted his gaze.

"I suspect people are leaving, we should too." He stood up.

"Kim! We paid quite a lot for this!" She protested.

"I know," he cleared his throat, "Let's ask for a refund of sorts, okay?"

"Fine," she grumbled and stood up as well. The creeks of the wooden carpeted floors were barely detectable in the middle of bustling chaos.

Lucy covered herself with a shawl and crossed her arms to prevent the cold air from invading her thin attire. She could sense the distaste visible on the faces of customers.

'Looks like this theatre isn't going to get many customers now,' she thought and shook her head, focusing on the matter at hand. A faint smile danced on her narrow lips as she witnessed a protective Kim, his strong arm circled around her petite figure. Her heart wanted to beat out of her chest to appreciate the concern of her husband. Warmth trickled in her body with closure and she gave a small peck on Kim's hand. He glanced down at his wife breaking a shy smile and pulling her closer.

'Everything is perfect no matter the circumstances if I am with you,' she plucked those thoughts with her actions and as if he could read her thoughts, Kim smiled gently and kissed her head, sniffing the familiar scent of Apple shampoo interlaced with his wife.

"PLEASE STAY SEATED! THE SHOW WILL BEGIN IN A MATTER OF MINUTES," the authoritative voice of Mr.Manager boomed. He stood blocking the exit door.

"Do you want to?" Kim asked.

"My interest is destroyed in the show although, a bit increased in you," she said with a grin. Kim's eyes widened and his ears flared up, he let out a cough to cover it up.

"Or we could do that too," he mumbled trying to retain his composure as Lucy giggled. They strolled to the main door as the crowd lessened and tried to walk past the manager. His hand shot up blocking their way.

"I think you didn't hear me when I said, the show will start in a few minutes," his voice didn't trail with his gaze as he scanned Lucy up and down. Kim gently pushed her behind him and addressed with a stern tone, "Eyes on me, sir. We want to leave as my wife is tired so, we will appreciate it if you move out of our way."

The manager grunted, "Young couples. Sit the fuck back down, lousy shit."

"What the fu-" Kim's words were cut off as the manager aimed the barrel of a gun on his forehead. Lucy shifted and screamed spotting the scene. Kim didn't move an inch and roughly pushed Lucy behind her, his one arm securing the girl and other one raised in surrender. Uncomfort swirled within the crowd as more screams threatened the room with an impending danger.

"QUIET NOW, IF YOU ALL TAKE YOUR SEATS. NO ONE HAS TO DIE," the manager roared glaring at Kim. Kim slowly moved back keeping track of his wife and making sure she was out of the aim. Instead of screams, panic rose quietly in the crowd. Everyone questioning as to what was going on, as if their questions were answered the stage lit up and an announcement filled the frightened theatre.

"Welcome to the 23rd Auction, lovelies!"

A person dressed up in the outfit of a clown greeted. His face disguised with paint and a red nose. More people dressed in monochromatic suits and faces covered with masks stood at the very back of the stage.

"We are thankful for your co-operation!" The Clown grinned and bowed. Anger burst with some hotheads. A bald man beloved, "What kind of shitty show is this?! We didn't pay out of our fucking wallets for your bullshit!"

His words didn't hold much value as a gunshot rang through the theatre hall. The bald man gasped and collapsed on the floor. Three girls ran and cried over their--what he presumed now was the dead father. People looked with pity and some tried to reach out but, everyone knew what the gunshot meant and remained seated. Kim traced warmth on his hand as they were filled with the tears of Lucy, he pulled her in the very back of a blind-spot and hugged the girl, comforting her with his firm touch and cooing words. He couldn't process his own fear, his mind filled with only measures to protect Lucy.

"Hey love, I know this sounds not appropriate for you right now. Please sit on the floor for me, okay?" he hushed.

Lucy's blood-red eyes looked over to her husband and with a slow nod, she sneaked downwards. She gripped onto his leg and covered her head with the shawl. Her ragged breathing converted to moist, forcing her to make an opening for fresh air. Kim processed the situation, the Clown was busy getting others together and Manager had rushed to the crying girls that were destroying their definition of a "calm atmosphere". It was the best time to sneak out but, how much could he bet on their escape? He couldn't take the chance like his old days, he couldn't beat up whoever existed outside that door and not expect any harm being inflicted on his girl. With his previous act, Lucy was already spotted and if he put up something big as that, it will draw more attention to the girl he wanted to hide.

"5th row, seat number 11. Come up here, darling." The Clown man pointed towards a girl in her early twenties. Her silk dress fit in the right places, illuminating her defined curves. Her fair skin glowed even in the dark and her symmetrical face was visible to Kim from the distance of 3 rows. The girl stumbled on to the stage, tears drenched her pretty face, smudging her makeup all over.

The Clown man smiled viciously, "Take it off, sweetie." His command terrified the woman, whispers erupted in the theatre yet, no one dared to stop it.

"W-what?" she questioned horror leaking from her expressions.

"Take it off," he said in a stern voice. The girl flinched and began to undress, she stopped when only her garments were left on her perfect figure. Kim lowered his gaze as a gesture of respect, it went against his morals. He clenched his fists to stop himself from doing something rash that would put Lucy in danger.

"10!" One of the suited men shouted his rating.

"9!"

"10!"

Kim gritted his teeth, such humiliation for a young girl. Anger boiled his insides but even he knew, the numbers didn't play in his favor. If he could get out, he could get some help and put an end to this fucked up show. Assuming, he could get out safely and not with a bullet in his head.

"Starting bid, 1000!" The Clown man jumped with joy. Kim guessed the customers were rich, adding more clarity to tight security and personal weapons.

"1500!" One of the men in an Eagle's mask said, his hungry eyes wandering over the girl's body.

"3000!"Another man in a Parrot's mask shouted.

"50,000." A man with a golden mask shouted. Silence fell onto the auction.

"Fifty Thousand, any takers? The bidding ends in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...SOLD!" Two muscular men walked on to the stage and dragged the struggling lady out of view.

"Alrightyyy~ 1st Row, seat number 2. Come on up, darling!"

Kim ignored the scenario focusing on their escape. Attention fixed on the stage. No guards for the entrance. He suspected two people would be at the exit door. However, they could take the emergency exit. The entire procedure of the auction came off as last-minute to him, low chances they scanned the entire layout. If not, they could climb on the roof and wait till the storm passes.

"Lucy...Baby, follow me," he patted her head. Lucy peaked from inside her shawl, her face dripping with horror, he didn't like to see her that way. Lucy had little tolerance to violence, if he waited for more, she would pass out. She weakly nodded, Kim slipped downwards, he started to crawl behind the seats and towards the exit. The little bumping off his wife assured him she was following his instructions.

Upon reaching the end of the seats and close to the exit, he turned back to his wife.

"I am going to go in first, check if anyone is there," he whispered. She gasped, holding on tightly to his torso.

"I'll be fine, love. Stay put," he assured her. She clasped her mouth, shaking her head in agreement. The various numbers were being shouted and the roars of manager existed very far, he peaked his head scanning if attention was put to his row. As expected, they weren't taking the empty row into much consideration. He sighed in relief and quickly crawled to the open door, his tall height serving an advantage.

His head snapped in the direction of the little hall, no one. He signed Lucy to come over, the girl scurried into his arms, hyperventilating.

"It will be fine, love," Kim whispered into her ears.

"I think we should go upstairs, follow me, alright?" He grabbed her hand and slowly opened the almost invisible door hiding away in a blindspot. Every little room existed between the theatre and the outside. Sometimes, fires would block the front door and thus, his town's theatres created a little doorway to reach upstairs in case of emergencies. He slightly opened the door, his eyes darting to the very top.

No one.

He breathed out with relief and ushered Lucy to continue upstairs, she hesitantly took one step after another, her movements ceased with another announcement.

"Mhm~ Row 8, seat number 16!"

It was Lucy's seat.
