It was Friday night and Alex had just finished all her homework for the weekend. College was starting to become easier to juggle. Finishing all her homework by the end of the week so she could hang with her best friends, who were also her roommates was starting to become a regular task for Alex.
Tonight they were going to an underground music spot called The Tunnel. Alex had the perfect outfit for tonight too. High waisted blue jean skirt, a black crop top, and high top black and blue Converses. It was simple but it was cute. She had box braids down her back that were freshly done a week ago, and her stress acene had finally cleared up.
"Tiana hurry the hell up!" Alex and Carissa yelled at their friend who was taking forever. "I'm coming damn." She yelled back with an attitude. She finally came strutting out the bathroom. "You lucky we didn't leave you." Carissa said. "Whatever let's just go." Alex said rolling her eyes.
She was just ready to get to the place.
A lot of the best artists and producers have been discovered at The Tunnel so Alex couldn't wait to check out the scene down there. The girls took a cab cause all three of them where planning on drinking tonight. Alex wasn't planning on drinking too much though cause atleast one of them had to be alert.
They finally reached the place and the music was booming. "Y'all see all the fine brothers in here?" Tiana said excitedly. "Girl what happened with you and-"
"Don't even mention his name." Tiana said cutting her off. "We did not come to just stand here, let's go blend in with the crowd or something." Alex suggested. Right now there were rap battles going on, and Alex couldn't help but notice that one of the rappers was killing it right now. His punchlines and flow was crazy good. On top of all that, he was fine as hell. Alex couldn't help but to stare.
How fine he was, plus how talented he was had her in such a daze. She quickly looked away when he glanced in her direction. When she turned her head back he was still glancing at her while still rapping effortlessly. "Brother man is checking you out girl." Carissa said nudging her shoulder.
"He is not." She lied.
"Either yo blind ass need glasses or you in denial." Tiana said.
"Whatever I'm not checking for him, I'm strictly focusing on school right now, a relationship can wait." Alex preached. Her friends knew she was lying like a muthuafuka but they let her be. After the rap battles some Dj battles started up. The rap battles were disrespectfully good. All of the artist were so raw and bold with their material.
