Highschool Love

First Day of School

So here i am just getting out of bed as I slump to the bathroom to get ready for school. Today is the first day of my last year in high school, and I'm dreading it. I hate going to school the first day cause it's always the worst, but then I remember I have the most amazing best friend ever, and he's gonna make the day so much more tolerable.

After I brush my teeth, I take a shower and head downstairs, where I see my mom making breakfast and my dad getting ready for work. I wasn't really hungry, so i just grabbed an apple and told them I was leaving. As I am about to enter my car, I see Daniel running towards me from up the street.

Dan - "Jay, wait up." Heavy breathing..... "Hey, my car broke down and my phone didn't charge last night so I couldn't text you to wait on me, so I had to run all the way here so we could ride together."

Jay - "Wow, Dan, you could have used your house phone and called me, I would have just swung around and picked you up."

Dan - " Damn, you right I didn't even think about that."

Jay - "Oh well, at least you're here now."

Dan - "Yeah, let's go."

So after a while, we finally pulled up to the school gate, and you could see dozens of kids pooling into the entrance. My anxiety skyrocketed just looking at them, I hated large crowds cause I knew there would be people looking at me. I guess Dan noticed, so he put his hand on my shoulder to reassure me that he was right there.

When I finally got to park, we got out and walked up to the entrance. We didn't need to rush since the teachers weren't gonna be teaching. It's just gonna be introductions or whatever. So when we finally got inside and past all the kids in the hall, we headed to the main office to get our schedules from the secretary.

As I was walking, I guess I was't paying attention, but I bumped into someone and caused their stuff to fall to the ground. Out of respect, I bent down and helped pick up their stuff. I hadn't seen their face yet but when I stood up I realized it was a girl and she must have been new since her face didn'tseem familiar.

Unknown - *Snap*, *Snap* "Hello!!".

Jay - "Um, I'm so sorry for bumping into you. I wasn't looking where I was going. I'm Jay btw, What's your name? "

Unknown - "I'm Avery, and it's fine. I wasn't looking where I was going either, but I just can't seem to find this class. I'm new here."

Jay - "Lemme see."

I looked through her schedule and realised we have a few classes together, and since she was new, I just told her she could rock with us and I could show her to her classes.

After we showed Avery to her class, we were headed to our first class and sat down when D asked.

Dan - "So.... What was that?"

Jay - "What are you talking bout?"

Dan - "I'm talking bout how you looked when you saw avery."

Jay - " Oh no, that was just because she didn't look familiar, so i was trynna figure out if she was new."

Dan - (Smirking) "Right, if you say so."

Jay - "Why'd you say it like that?"

Dan - "Nothing, i believe you."

Jay - "Okay."

After our first class, I was about ready to go home. Today was okay, but the current teacher was boring me, talking about how we should make this last year our best, and I was not trynna hear it. I just wanna hurry up and leave this school.
