3. Friends

Ishita: Really? Navya, is your boyfriend ok?

Navya: I don't know, Aunty. Waise, yeh theek tha hi kab.

Nyo: True.

Cabir: Huh. Woh sab chodo. Kya main inn garma garam pakode khane mein aapki madad kar sakta hun?

Nyo: Aapko itni takleef kyun? Hum khud kha lenge.

Cabir: Arey, aap toh bura maan gayi. Layiye main help kar deta hun. Pata hai maine kitna time ho gaya, maine kuch khaya hi nahi?

Everyone gives him a look.

Cabir: Arey pucho toh kitna time hua hai?

Navya: Kitna time, Cabir?

Cabir: Itna time hua hai ki mere pet ke andar HCl acid chilla rahi hai khane ke liye.

Everyone rolls their eyes at him as Cabir forwards his hand towards the bowl. Slapping his hand, Ishita bursts out laughing. He settles on the counter and starts munching them while talking.

Navya: Is tarah Cabir ne sare pakode khatam kiye.

Cabir: Navya, aisa kuch nahi hua. Bas main help kar raha tha.

Nandu(wails): Manik, usne mera food khatam kar diya. Food is BAE. Kuch kar.

Cabir: But Manik should be your BAE. Matlab you are ignoring your one and only boyfriend for food. How sad.

Nandu(gritting her teeth): FOOD. IS. OUR. BAE.

Ishita who came with plates of food, saw Cabir and Nandu glaring at each other as Manik and Navya were sitting beside, holding their heads.

Ishita: Bas karo dono. Yeh rahe tumhare pakode. Kitna jhagdte ho dono.

Manik: Thank God, Ishu Maa. Bacche bhi inse better hain.

Ishita pinches his cheeks lightly as he smiles.

After eating, Manik was on the bed sitting with Nandu's head on his lap as he was ruffling her hair. Cabir and Navya were on the couch.

Nandu: Let's go somewhere during the weekend. I am too tired of all the office work.

Navya: I am leaving for my hometown with my family.

Nandu: Kyu yaar, Navya. Mukti aur Abhimanyu bhi nahi hai. Alya Dhruv bhi gaye hai apne 40th pre-honeymoon vacation par. Tu bhi chali jayegi.

Navya: I can't help it yaar. Family hai.

Cabir: Nandu, baby. Main toh yahi hoon na.

Nandu: Jate time apne iss ghatiya boyfriend ko bhi lekar ja. Nahi toh yeh bas mere hi ghar par sadega. Or he will be with my Manik the whole day.

Cabir: Tere boyfriend se pehle mera friend hai.

Nandu: Sabse pehle woh mera best friend hai.

Cabir: Tu..

Manik: Okay. Stop. Tum dono ko baat karna hai karo agar jhagdna hai toh go out.

Nandu(puppy face): Manik, you know na how much I love you.

Manik(lovingly): I know Nandu. And I love you too.

Nandu: Manik, tum kisi aur ke liye mujhe chod doge kya?

Manik: Kisi aur ke liye apni jaan kyun chod dunga, baba?

Nandu(smirks): Dekha Cabir. He loves me more. I am his Jaan.
