Charley's POV
We had been running for a good ten minutes, until we all agreed we can stop.
No cars had stopped, and we had officially escaped.
I placed Bea down, and examined my arm, considering I couldn't examine my face first, due to logic.
Klaus was pulling a small shard of glass out of his lower leg, and Isadora brushed off the blood from her ankle.
I couldn't exactly stop the bleeding on my face or arm, so I just ignored the pain.

"We should keep moving.
Even if no one finds us, we will eventually run out of food." I point out.
Everyone but Duncan nods.
I catch him looking at my face.
"We can't go with you like that." I hear him say, and see him gesture to my face and arm.
I roll my eyes.
"I was literally burned in a fire, a small scrape is nothing." I say, ignoring the fact that it hurts like heck.
I mean, if I'm not fine, I might as well pretend.

I pick up Beatrice and start walking.
One by one everyone follows.
By noon, we saw a village.
It was still like a twenty minute walk away in this desert, but it was way closer than we expected.
Every minute passed by, and the village got closer and closer.
There was something off though.

After a good ten minutes later, we arrived at the village, but it was dark.
Like, if the world was a board game, something would be covering this square.
The unsettling fact, is that every couple of minutes, there would be a scream.
Just then, someone came running out of the village, yelling.
"MURDERER" We heard her screech, and the minute she left the village, a murder of crows swooped down and left her as roadkill.
I covered Beatrice's eyes, along with Sunny's.

"It's too late to turn back..." I say, and walk straight in, ignoring Duncan as he yelled my name.
I had placed Beatrice in Violets arms and been swallowed by the darkness.
Everything inside was dark, but I kept seeing a flash of light, always followed by an ear-piercing shriek.
Whatever was killing these people wasn't human or sane.
Just as I thought the creature had left, their was a blaring flash of light directly in front of me.
The last thing I saw, before everything went black, was a tint of pink on the body of this creature.
