Time!!!
When I checked the dictionary for the meaning of the word 'time', nothing was explanatory enough. Of course I found synonyms like moment, occasion, season, lifetime. For me, lifetime seemed to be close enough to the word, time😁.
So here's a brief history; In Genesis chapter one, the very first verse explains how time came to be. It says 'in the beginning' - it was at that point, time started counting.
In - the - beginning💃. Verse five ends it by saying 'and there was evening and there was morning, one day'. Science tells us that there are 24hours in each day and research shows that the average man uses '7-9 hours' at least, to sleep per day.
If we agree with this research, we'll see that we have about 16-17 hours per day to do every other thing. If you are currently going through the lockdown, you'd agree with me that time seemed to be something that people didn't know how to use well.
I believe that when it comes to people with respect to their time, there are three groups;
- people with excess time😏.
- people with just enough time👌.
- people with not enough time🙅.
Before the pandemic, I'd say that half of our population are in the third group. You hear things like there was just no time or I didn't have enough time to get it done. And for people with to-do lists like me, you hear words like, time just flew - not all of the phrases aforementioned are correct but that's not the point.
During this lockdown, more than half of the third group moved to the first group. Suddenly, time seemed to be in excess so what exactly happened?🤔 Is it that the 24hours per day suddenly increased to 28 or is it that the 24hours grew in length and width as a result of the pandemic?😁
You don't think so? I don't think so either and that's why the phrase 'there was no time' or 'time flew' is completely incorrect (I stand to be corrected.) It's for this reason that I believe the word lifetime could as well be used in place of time but that itself is funny because life-time has time in it.
So let's stick with time's definition as forever because it's the only thing that seems good enough, again, I stand corrected💁. A wise man once said that there are three things that can't be recovered;
- a stone, once it's thrown into the sea.
- words, after its been said.
- and time, after its gone or has been spent.
Of course, Flash and Superman🤦 make us think otherwise but then any one living in reality knows that you can't run/fly into the future or do vice - versa into the past. I haven't seen any man that can do any of those three things mentioned above but then God can and he has.
In 2kings 6:6, when Elisha and some people were in the forest, felling trees, the axe head of a man fell into the water and it was retrieved. I can already tell that some people already have an argument like stone and axe aren't the same. 🤔They aren't but they are interchangeable cause the axehead is made of iron and iron would sink in water💁.
Besides, how do you explain the fact that Elisha threw a stick into the water and the iron floated - makes no sense at all and in all note, that's impossible but then like Matthew 19:26 says, with man it is impossible but with God, nothing is impossible😁Defender 1 : Opposer 0😂
As I was saying, words after it has been said. Firstly, God's word is yea and amen, if he says he's going to do it, he is. He is the only one that can reverse what he said before. Need a proof, here it is (in the case of the people of Nineveh - Jonah chapter 3&4 and King Hezekiah in Isaiah 38).
Time🤔!! If you check out the Bible, you'll see that in Joshua chapter 10, Joshua asked the sun to stand still while they battled the Amorites. History has it that what happened that day, messed up with the calendar😁. Asides that, If God can reverse his words, seasons can definitely be reversed.
