A knock on the door
Made me turn around
God it's midnight!
Not even a single sound
Who could it be this hour
I just got out of the shower
My hair dripping wet
My nail polish's red
Still not all dried up yet
With the bunny slippers on my feet
I jump off my seat
And trot towards the door
A beaming face flashes in front of me
My heart flutters
Skipping a beat
My baby in all his glory standing tall
With a collection of flowers
And chocolates from the mall
"Come with me baby", he said
"What! Where?!
Of course not like this
Wait till I find something to wear"
I clicked my feet together making him laugh
A sound I love so much
Always makes my insides clutch
"Fine. I can wait no more. I'ma do it right here"
He knelt on the floor
My eyes widened
My jaw dropped
My feelings heightened
My palms started sweating
Lord. Am I dreaming?
"Look at me baby"
He called and pulled me from my trance
I smiled, nodded and gave him the chance
"Will you marry me love?"
He said the words and I cried
Happy tears that is
Knowing I'd spend my life
From now on
With the love of my life
