I had been right on my assumption. Two days later, he returned to visit again. I had been tending to my roses, planted to the left side of the white mailbox, near the porch. I was glad for the company.

"Warren, there you are," He said with excitement in his voice.

"Yes here I am and there you are," I teased him.

"How are you sir." He said.

"I'm fine, and yourself?'

"I'm okay. Remember our talk about the war last time?' He asked me.

"Yes," I said, nodding to him as I stood and led him onto the porch.

"Can we talk more of it?' He asked with hope in his eyes.

"Sure, what did you want to know?"  I asked him.

"Well sir, how did they cure the virus?" He said to me.

I chuckled a moment before answering the kid.

"You sure you want to know?' I said to him.

He nodded yes, as if his twelve year old life depended on it.

"You're not going to belive it. I wouldn't if I hadn't lived through it." I explained.

"Please sir tell me." He said.

"Okay. We didn't come up with a cure."

"Who did?" He asked with a look of confusion.

"The Vitronnians did." I said to him.

"What? Who are they?' Jack asked me, wide eyed.

"They were the aliens that saved humanity." I told him.
