Chapter 14 - Jarred

Start from the beginning

“Oh god,” I mumbled to myself and I stood up and walked over to the television, “what is this girl doing to me?” I couldn’t help but smile to myself. She was so innocent, with the exception of her extremely dirty mind, but I think it was her innocence that drew me in. When I first started talking to her, I knew she was innocent, and I thought she would be easy to play, but boy was I wrong. She was innocent and inexperienced but she wasn’t stupid enough to fall for my tricks. She was the one playing me, and she played it smart. She was smart for a blonde. I was the one trying to make her fall for me so I could get what I wanted and then break her heart. That was the game that I played, and I played it way too well. But Ali played a different game, and she played it better than I could ever play my own game. My friends didn’t know about her until she came down to my place for the first time, and I introduced her to them.

“What was her name again Jarred?” Dameon asked.

“Yeah Jarred, who was that blonde you introduced us to the other day?” Mike almost shouted at me.

“She was hot!” Tate exclaimed as he pretended to grab ass.

“Oi, shut up will you, you fucking shitdicks!” I called as I walked away. I had to talk to her.

~

“Jarred?” Ali asked, waving her hand about thirty centimetres away from my face, pulling me away from the memory. Thank God.  I blinked a few times and looked up at her. She had pulled her hair back into a pony tail, leaving only small pieces out to frame her face.  I loved how she could pull her hair back whenever she wanted and no matter how crappy the style was, she always managed to pull it off perfectly.

“Yes?” I questioned back, a massive smirk on my face.

“Why are you sitting on the floor in front of the television?”

“I was thinking maybe we could play mine craft and finally finish that house we were building.” I explained. I had forgotten what I was doing; the memory had pulled me from reality.

“Sounds good.” She smiled. I noticed she was holding two plates with a selection of the Chinese food we had bought. I stood up and grabbed the plate with the most food on it, knowing it was mine. Ali didn’t really eat a lot. We moved back to the bed and she sat on the floor with her back up against the end of the bed. I put my plate down and went back to the T.V. and grabbed the remote and 2 PlayStation controllers. I sat down and passed Ali a controller and she gave me a fork in return. She let out a laugh at the exchange and I couldn’t help but smile. She was laughing and smiling but they still seemed somewhat strained and I could tell something was worrying her.

“Did you want to Skype a couple of your friends?” I asked her, hoping to get her mind off of whatever was worrying her.

“Okay, yeah,” she smiled, a genuine smile, “can we Skype Gabby?”

“Yeah, up to you.” I had connected her phone to the internet at my place the first time she came over, although she barely used it. Every time we were together she lost her phone because she wouldn’t use it. She stood up and went over to her bag.

“Where is my stupid piece of shit phone?!” she cried out after a few minutes of digging through her bags. I stood up and walked over to the side of my bed that she usually slept on.

“Ali.” I said, pulling her phone from the charger and taking it with me back to where we were sitting beforehand,

“What?” she almost snapped. She turned and looked at me. I held her phone up and laughed a little, relief clear on her features.
