Prologue

*Okay so if it isn't obvious enough these stories are based on my dreams, which is why they can be whacky. Also, this is the prologue, you can skip it, but it won't make much sense if you do.*

I've always been a lucid dreamer, and when I go to bed I normally have control over the dreams that I have, like most lucid dreamers, I have a habit of taking over and doing what I want in these dreams, but last night I had the most vivid dream I've ever had. I was doing some delving into my subconscious when all of a sudden I was in a car with a man I had never met. The car was pretty modern, but I don't know much about cars so I have no idea what model it was, but I do know it was a van. The man took form as the driver, he was in control of my car. He said to me, "You have the ability to see into the soul realm with your dreams, and I want to help you take control of it before the demons get to you." I sighed, my stomach turned, "What does that entail?" He scoffed, "You will work for me, you will first be placed in alternate timelines of your life to test your abilities to search your own soul. Each one will come with its own rules, laws, things of that matter. You may look different, act different, know different people, or know the same people in different ways."

He handed me a guidebook, and I casually flipped through the pages, before rolling it back to page one, Rules for your own timeline,

#1. You must not fall in love with anyone unless you currently love them in your timeline

#2. Anything you obtain in the spirit world will be obtained in your reality, by some other means, be careful what you take with you when you leave the spirit world

#3. Do not entertain demons, no matter how scared you are.

#4. Alternate versions of you may take your place while you enter the spirit world if you are not asleep while doing so

#5. You have the ability to pause and rewind time in alternate timelines, when you are done learning about the timeline, rewind to the point you entered in, to rewind or pause hold a hand up and imagine going back.

#6. No one in your timeline can know about any of this, the only exception is if you tell them it happened in a dream.

He then spoke again, "You cannot read past that chapter until you succeed this phase of the test." I flipped to the next chapter defiantly, but it was empty.
