Within Shadows (Zuko x Reader)

Chapter 20 Pt. 2

"Way to think ahead." Sokka praised.

"We're on our way." Suki spoke.

"Wait. Who's that?" Hakota questioned. You and Zuko went over and saw none other then Azula and Ty Lee.

"Well that's a major issue..." You muttered.

"It's my sister and her friend." Zuko added. Soon Ty Lee jumped up and ran on the rope while Azula attached one end of a pair of handcuffs to the rope and held on the other and used her fee hand to propel herself with her flames.

"Clever son of a bitch..." You mutter as you watched them approach.

"This is a rematch I've been waiting for." Suki spoke.

"You could say that again." You spoke and cracked your knuckles. You, Zuko, Suki and Sokka got up on the roof of the gondola. Ready to fight when they arrived. Ty Lee landed on one end and Azula on the other. You and Zuko got Azula while Sokka and Suki handled Ty Lee. Azula made the first move, crouching and swinging her leg to create an arch of flame which Zuko jumped forward, slammed his foot down and dispersed her flames with his. You jumped over the flames and punched a few flames towards her which she dodged but then narrowly dodged the flamed kick coming her way. She sent a flame towards you but you jumped and back flipped out of the way and Zuko dispersed the flames with his hands, making sure Sokka didn't get hit. The battle went on and you and Zuko got her close to the edge. She used her hands to keep her up in a planked position but then lifted herself enough to have her legs come out from under her and to kick a flame out that you all moved out of the way for.

"Cut the line!" The warden shouted. Yet the battle still continue yet you somewhat tensed at the words.

"We need to hurry this up." You spoke and ducked under a flame. The gondola suddenly jolted to a stop causing you all to wobble. Sokka began sliding off the side but Zuko caught him before he fell off. You helped him get Sokka up.

"They're about to cut the line!" Ty Lee exclaimed to Azula.

"Then it's time to leave." Azula spoke as she saw the other gondola coming towards all of you. She propelled herself up and away with a smirk. "Goodbye, Zuko and (Y/n)." She spoke and landed on the gondola. Ty Lee jumped and landed beside her. You all watched them leave.

"The Gondola is about to go!" Zuko exclaimed as he looked over to see them sawing at the line.

"I hope this thing floats." Hakota spoke. The gondola started moving again and Sokka went over to look once inside the gondola again.

"Who's that?" He asked. You, Zuko and the others looked out to see Mai fighting off the guards. She glanced at you all.

"Wha- Mai?" You questioned. But now wasn't the time for answers. All of you made it to the top and rushed out the gondola and left the Warden in the gondola. Zuko suddenly stopped and you did the same. You grabbed his hand gently. "Zuko? What's wrong?" You asked him.

"Zuko, (Y/n). What are you doing?" Sokka spoke as he turned to the two of you.

"My sister is on that island." Zuko simply spoke.

"Yeah and she's probably right behind us so let's not stop." Sokka insisted.

"What I mean is that she must have come here some how." He then moved towards a cliff and then pointed to an air ship. "There's that's how we get out."

"Good thinking." You spoke with a smile.

"What are you doing in this thing? What happened to the war balloon?" Katara asked as soon as you, Zuko and Sokka stepped out the air ship.

"It got destroyed." Zuko simply replied with a shrug.

"Sounds like a crazy fishing trip." Aang quipped.

"Did you at least bring good meat?" Toph asked.

"I did. The best meat of all. The meat of friendship, and father hood." Sokka replied. And out came Suki, Hakota and Chit Sang.

"Weird way of putting it but whatever works I guess." You spoke.

"Hi I'm new. Hello everybody!" Chit sang spoke gleefully.

"Dad..." Katara breathed out.

"Hi Katara." He replied and and two of them embraced. You smiled warmly at the sight and felt Zuko pull you to his side. You looked up at him and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

"How are you here? What's going on? Where did you go?" Katara questioned as she looked over to you, Sokka and Zuko.

"We... Kind of went to a Fire Nation prison." Sokka replied and got pulled into a family hug. Though the moment was ruined by Toph.

"Seriously. You guys didn't find any meat?" She asked. You chuckled and snuggled into Zuko's side.

"What you did back there was badass by the way." Zuko muttered into your ear causing you to blush.

"Really now?" You questioned quietly. He squeezed your side affectionately.

"Couldn't keep my eyes off you the entire time." He replied. You chuckled and lightly elbowed him.

"Simmer down hot head." You teased. "Let's get some actual rest. I don't know about you but I'm exhausted." You added as you grabbed his hand and lead him to bed after saying goodnight to everyone and letting the Water Tribe family have a moment longer to themselves.
