"Sorry, I'm just excited," Josie's lips twitched into a sheepish smile. "But seriously, I can't believe it. He is bold. So what are you guys now?"
I shrugged, "We haven't even talked about it."
Josie put an arm on my shoulder, a solemn expression and looking dead serious, "I'm your bridesmaid for your wedding right?"
"You're getting waaaaay ahead of yourself," I rolled my eyes and then a sly smile spread over my lips, "besides, I saw you getting close with that other guy." I nudged her.
Her face immediately turned bright red, almost matching the shade of her hair, "His name is Ryan."
"And..." I egged her on.
"And he's really cute. We may have gone back to his place after the dance—"
"Oh my god eww. Already?!" I cut her off.
"Gosh no, we watched a movie you pervert," she gave me an incredulous look. "Anyways, he's super cute and nice and he wants to have lunch with me!"
We reached my chemistry class. "Well won't you have fun with that," I smirked at her before entering my class and Josie walked down the hall to her own. I made my way over to my desk, surprised to see Aden already geared up in a lab coat and a pair of safety glasses.
Damn those glasses looked good on him. Only him of course since I looked like some sort of idiotic mad scientist with them on.
A large grin spread over his face when I approached him. "Hey, it's lab day so I already got you your apron and stuff," he nodded to my desk, and sure enough there was a stinky apron and a pair of dirty safety glasses.
"Thanks," I said, feeling my cheeks heat up as I pulled the apron over my head, remembering how it felt to have his lips on mine. I could feel Aden's eyes on me as I tied my hair up but when I looked over at him he glanced away. Perhaps I imagined it, but there was a reddish tint on his cheeks as well.
I picked up the assignment and rolled my eyes. We had to identify the ionic compound that were given. That was the stupidest thing I'd ever heard, and a waste of time.
"Where do we start?" I asked.
Aden glanced at the solid compound in our petri dish, his eyebrows furrowed. "Well, we could put it in acid. Then we can narrow down what type of metal it is," he said.
Like the genius that he is.
I nodded and Aden went off to grab the acid that we needed.
I sat down, poking the piece of metal compound we had with a pair of tweezers. Maybe I could smell it or something. I thought pathetically as Austin came up to my table.
"Hey Austin," I greeted, putting down the tweezers.
"Hey, so what did you think of the dance on Friday?" he asked me, nervously shuffling on his feet. His cheeks were also brighter than a tomato.
"It was nice, better than I thought it would be," I told him. Waaay better. My lips began twitching upwards just from the thought of Aden.
"Yeah same, it wasn't as lame as everyone thought it would be," he laughed, his confidence rushing back. "Anyways, there's a party that I'm hosting after our first soccer game, and a lot of people would be there. I was wondering if you'd like to come?"
I pondered for a moment. A party always screamed bad news to me, even if I'd ever been to one. But I guess it couldn't hurt. "Yeah, I'll think about it."
"Think about what?" Aden asked, eyeing Austin as he set down a vial labelled hydrochloric acid onto the table.
"Oh, the party I'm hosting this weekend, you know for the soccer team," Austin looked at Aden. "I was just asking Skyler if she wanted to come." Austin smirked.
