Nettlekit's Star

Prologue

Antstar paced across the clearing. Not far behind him, Birdstar, Fernstar and Hazelstar followed.

"Icetooth! What are you doing here?"  Fernstar suddenly screeched. "This is not a place for medicine cats!"

"Sorry, Fernstar. I'm here for a reason. I have an important message for you all. One that if not handled correctly, could bring the end of the clans as we know it." Icetooth meowed anxiously.

"Well? What is it?" Hazelstar hissed threateningly.

"You are not going to like it." Suddenly, Icetooth started shivering. Her eyes turned black as night, and she dropped into a crouch. "From shadow and thunder combined, one shall be taken, one shall be revived." She raved. Then, she went into a coughing fit, and leapt away, as if some cat was right there, about to scratch her belly.

"What could that mean?" Antstar asked nervously. From shadow and thunder combined, one shall be taken, one shall be revived. It has a ring to it, Antstar thought.

"Well, I think part of it is pretty obvious. From shadow and thunder, it must mean that ShadowClan and ThunderClan have something to do with the prophecy. But what?" Birdstar mewed. She was always the brighter leader.

"I don't know, maybe there are lovebirds?" Antstar asked jokingly.

Fernstar and Hazelstar let out a mreoww of amusement. Birdstar glared at Antstar, clearly annoyed at him using part of her name like that.

"Do not use my name like that, understand?" Birdstar asked sternly. Antstar nodded, the humour still clear on his face. "Anyway, lovers from different clans happens too often. Besides, The rest of the prophecy says nothing about that." Birdstar looked like she was just curious, but an idea was already forming in her head.

"Good point. We will have to think on it some more." Hazelstar mewed, happy that they had discovered something as opposed to her usual grumpy attitude.

"I think I have an idea. You know that leader of ShadowClan? The one that Rigidstar was told would have a lasting effect all those moons ago? Hawkstar, his name is." Birdstar asked. Everyone nodded. "Well, he doesn't seem like the nicest cat in the world. What if he has something to do with it?" The other three murmured in agreement.

"Well, I think we have discovered a lot of the prophecy already." Antstar pointed out. "I think we should sleep on it."

"Ok." The other cats agreed. They set off to their nests, thinking of the prophecy and what it could mean. Only Birdstar had actually guessed correctly, and was pretty sure she knew what was coming.
