"Mommy! Daddy!" the eldest child cried with joy.
"Go and play outside, Tempest. Daddy and I need to talk for a second." a loving and caring woman kneeled down to face her eldest son and stroke his face.
"But mommy..." the child began to bring about tears to make the woman change her mind.
"No buts, Tempest. Now go, I promise I'll be out there shortly." she now fixated a stern look on her face, but not too stern to scare the child into thinking he'd done wrong.
"O-okay..." and he ran off to play outside .
"My sister Theodora will be arriving shortly, and so will mum." there stood a man with a glass in his hand, leaning over the balcony of their bedroom.
"Charles please, keep up with me here. I have given you three beautiful children whose potential's are already shining bright through thick and thin, is that not enough for your satisfaction?" the woman pleaded earnestly to her husband.
"Eris, stop." he began in a tone that seemed to frighten the woman.
"Please, Charles..." the woman begged once more, hoping to find some sort of remorse in him. She'd been wrong. There hasn't been any remorse from him since the second child. They had been expecting a girl, and to see that it had been a boy was devastating, so they had given him the name Tempest, a name to reside and symbolize their temptations. Their second eldest came forth three years later, a girl who was named Ursa after Eris's mother. Eris had been the only one left of her kin, so it was with great pride that the name be bestowed upon their only daughter. Then a year later, they were gifted with another boy, yet he was quiet and sullen just like his father. Never wanting to defend himself, never wanting to participate. He was given the name Crimson, sadly the opposite of what they had expected him to be.
"What is it do you ask for, woman? Have I not given you all that I must? Am I not your godly husband that is to reign this putrid world?" the man turned with fire in his eyes as he slammed the glass down upon the hard floor. Surely the help would come to clean that up. He trudged closer to his wife, drunk, as she watched him, mortified, she tried to back away, but the man was too fast that he grabbed both of her shoulders. The woman didn't break eye contact with her husband as she sat down on the bed, dragging him along with her.
"Charles... I am expecting... another." the woman began as she looked down at the floor and sobbed. The man was truly raging now. He hit the walls with fury as he cursed his wife's very existence. His children have been a disappointment to everything that their reputation was put on the line. His mother had been right. He now knew what he had to do. Five years from now, he'd unleash this otherworldly plan that he has yet to accomplish. And nothing would stand in his way.
