Camila's Diary

Today was very fun! And I'm very, very, happy!

I woke up early to get ready for the day. I was planning to re-introduce myself to my quiet neighbour, I wanted to try and start over by going next door and offering to show him around.

After letting my mom know about my plan I open the door and almost ran into Shawn! I was not expecting to see him at my door, but so excited that I forgot about my rehearsed speech to get him to spend the day with me.

Instead I said good morning to him and made him meet my mama, she warmly welcomed him in. Sometimes I wish I could be as charming as she is and as effortlessly... She had a way to get people to open up to her easily and thanks to that I found out more things about Shawn:

1) He was younger than me by almost 2 years, but was at my same school grade. I was very surprised, he must be smarter than he looks... (I know I shouldn't judge people by their looks, but still...)

2) His dad is finishing up some work at their old place and would join them eventually. His dad is a writer. I need to remember getting myself one of his books to read.

3) He hates tomatoes (for whatever reason...) and loves muffins (who doesn't?).

4) He likes dogs but can't have one because he thinks he might be allergic.

I gave him a full Tour of my house and he followed without saying much, till we got to the pool area. He also seemed to be really interested in my papa's studio... I guess we've got another music lover in the block. :) (I also love music, but I'm a shy singer: I NEVER let anyone hear me...) He also commented his house was pretty much the same except for the pool part. I obviously already knew that, spending as much time as I did in that old house... (If he's nice to me I could even show him its secret.)

I noticed he was frowning and I felt I knew exactly why, so I told him he could use my pool freely if he'd let me into his garden as an exchange. He agreed, but right now I feel I should have asked my parents first... I guess I'll ask them both for permission tomorrow.

After we finished the Tour, he told me he should get back to his house as he had things to help his mom with... :/ I hope he wasn't trying to get rid of me because I'm set on making him my best friend and I'll keep on it tomorrow!

Shawn might be a little awkward, but I can tell he is very sweet too. I think we are going to be great friends. 

Shawn's Notebook

Today was a good day. Maybe moving here wasn't so bad after all...

I almost ran into her this morning as I was leaving their families dishes. And she basically said good morning and immediately pulled me into her house. She introduced me to her mom; her name is Sinu and she is a very sweet woman and very affectionate too. She asked me many questions and I surprisingly found myself comfortable enough to answer them all...

After that I was dragged by Camila around her house. She showed me pretty much every room and would randomly mention something about evry single one. I found it curious how our houses were designed to be identical versions, but theirs had a very unique style filled with all their stuff.

The only thing different to mine was that they had a pool, while mine had a greenhouse garden. My mom was excited about getting to work on it, so I didn't mind it, but I'll admit I was a bit envious. She probably noticed, as she told me I could use it whenever I felt like it as long as I'd let her into the garden too. I don't think my mom will mind, but I feel we should ask her parents too. Either way, I really hope I get to use it...

But aside from that my favorite room might have been her dad's studio. It has a lot of instruments. She told me he is not a pro musician, but that he loves playing and she specially loves it when he sings; I asked her if she could play too and she said she was trying to learn, but what she liked best was singing. But not in front of others... even if she doesn't look like the shy type.

I wonder if I'll ever get to hear her sing...

Camila is weird, but she's also very fun. She definitely has an interesting way to look at things... I have a feeling that if she's around this place won't be as boring as I thought it'd be.

Author's note: When I was little I tried to write a Diary, but I'd always forget to properly keep it and actually write on it... I would also try and be as proper and professional on it as if I was writing a book of memoirs; that's why I'm having these two write the way they do. 

As they grow they'll most likely change the way they put down their thoughts, and one point I'll start "skipping" diary entries and only write the key ones to move the story forward... But right now I just want to make sure to put down their beginning and for me to get used to them & their dynamic.

Also: Thank you to @janetjuarezsm for asking for an update; it was your comment that made me want to continue writing this story. It feels nice knowing there's someone who wants to keep reading this. :))
