It was a random day in New York. Roads were bustling with cars and buses, sidewalks with pedestrians.
It wasn't a busy day for New Yorkers, it was just a normal day.
"Shit, I'm getting late."
Peter said to himself as he made his way through the horde of people.
"Language, Parker." Came a stern voice.
"What do you mean? Oh my god, Mr Stark, Why would you do that to EDITH and to me?"
Commuters gave him wierd looks as they passed by him.
"Come on, I'm not talking to myself. I'm talking to EDITH, for god sake!!"
More wierd looks.
Shut up, Peter. Just shut the heck up!
Finally he reached his destination,
the library.
School had been tough. Group and individual projects were piling up, given the fact that guarding the Earth was no easy but a very important job.
To make his project the best one, he needed a particular book, present at a particular library which would be shutting down in the next half an hour.
However, he had finally made it.
Quickly running up the the section that read "Ancient History of America" he started searching through the books for the one in particular. After skimming through 3 shelves of books, it was already time to close.
Damn, I'll have to come again tomorrow.
His shoulders slumped as he made his way out of the corridor, and back to the main entrance to collect his belongings.
"Hey!"
Said a voice from behind him.
He turned back to see a girl, around his age with a gentle smile on her face.
"Hey."
He responded, wondering if they had met before.
"I'm new around here, I could use some quick advice on a good place to eat."
She smiled waiting for him to respond.
"Um, sure. Do you mind if I walk you there?" Peter said, hopefully.
Usually he would have just given people directions and then let them go by themselves, but she was different. He couldn't pinpoint a reason, she just was.
"Thanks a lot, you're an angel in disguise!"
She beamed with happiness while he smiled back at the bubbly girl.
Soon they were walking down a less busy sidewalk. Crowds was slowly dissembling.
"It's good to have someone to walk along with, in a new place."
She spoke, breaking the silence.
"I could be a kidnapper?"
Peter said in pretense, making her giggle.
"What? Why are you laughing?"
He said a little perplexed.
"Bad people don't come to libraries."
She said, in a matter of factly way.
Next moment giggles were heard which eventually turned into laughter and then into a funny banter until they reached the restaurant Peter was talking about.
"So, here we are!"
Peter said, feeling a little disheartened. He liked her company.
"Okay, one last question for the day. Who's your favorite superhero?
"You."
She gave him a puzzled look. It was overwhelming, but puzzling.
"Why'd you say that?"
"You trusted me. Not everyone trusts others. Only superheroes do."
She had no words to say. The only thing she did was look into his beautiful eyes.
Unexpectedly, for both, she gave him a quick hug, murmuring a little thank you in his ear before breaking the embrace.
She was about to bid him farewell when he spoke
"Who's your's?"
A little laugh escaped her lips as she spoke.
"I like Spiderman."
Peter gave a hearty and a genuine smile, after all feeling were knowingly from his side and unknowingly from her side, mutual.

No numbers were exchanged,
Just glances.
They knew they'd meet each other again, the question was, when?
