I had just turned 18 in March. I had also just graduated school. My parents and I just got back from my graduation. It was June 6th.
I was free. I could finally leave behind what was left of my life. There wasn't going to be much. Not after the stunt I was about to pull.
I moved things to my car that I was finally able to start paying after working multiple shifts at different places to get money. I had also been getting money from YouTube. I had gained a large following for my mix of uploads.
I tried to post as much as possible but with my multiple shifts and with school it was difficult. What shocked me was people didn't seem to care. Instead they cheered me on, they wished me luck. I had told them my situation and I was flooded with love.
They told me that I was in their thoughts and prayers. They told me they hoped for the best.
I even got support from larger creators such as Joey Graceffa, Markiplier, and Colleen Ballinger. They all reached out wishing the best of luck to me.
To save myself the trouble I told my parents that I was going south to go to a culinary college which was a complete lie. I actually wanted to move to California and get my start there. I had applied to one college praying that it would be the one and it was.
I had gotten a letter in the mail from SCU and I had been accepted.
Snapping out of my thoughts I brought my last box down and into my car.
"Abigail are you sure about this. You're welcome to stay a year extra if you want to." My mom said.
"Mom, I've already been accepted. I can't mess up that opportunity." I told her.
I stood there knowing I couldn't keep it up anymore. I couldn't live with them anymore. I had done it for 18 years already I couldn't do it for another.
She nodded her head, thinking she knew what road I wanted to take.
Thinking back on what I had started in the past few years of my life was insane.
I had started my YouTube channel when I was 17. I couldn't tell my parents because of the fact that they would delete it immediately. Which meant I couldn't go to any events until I turned 18. Which happened March 30th. So I took advantage of it.
I told my parents that I was going to the beach with my friends for the weekend. That was a another complete lie though. With the extra money I saved up I took a flight to Orlando, Florida.
Playlist had been kind enough to give me a free room after I explained my situation.
When I got there I met so many people who were fans of me. There I was able to meet many of the Youtubers that had wished me luck over the past few months.
*flashback*
I walked through the crowd with my head up looking around. Playlist was insane. I had met so many fans telling me that I had helped them through tough times. So when a finger tapped my back I just thought it was a fan.
I turned around and I was met by Colleen Ballinger.
My jaw dropped and we immediately engulfed each other in a hug.
"Oh my god! How did you get here?" She asked shocked while her boyfriend stood there confused.
"I totally told my parents that I went a beach in Maryland with some friends." I chuckled.
"Joshua, this is Abby. She's moving to California soon." She said bumping my elbow.
"Hi," he said shaking my hand.
