Adelaide's footsteps filled the quiet hall. It was a bright white, the black cracks in the marble floor a large contrast. She was hurrying to get her most recent wish, her favorite part of the day. Her Auburn hair was tied up in a messy bun, threatening to get tangled in her shiny, pearly earrings. She had her tuxedo buttoned up a little too tight for comfort, but it was too late to fix that now. Besides the clacking of her obnoxiously loud heels, her purse was the only thing making noise, bouncing on Adelaide's side.

Addie opened the clear glass door, her boss- Sir Jackson, everybody called him- greeting her. His skin was a deep brown, like freshly watered soil. For only the reason of looking "like a man in black," Jackson wore a tuxedo and sunglasses, probably a bother to his earpiece. He insisted on using it instead of the newer, hands-off, tech.

"Good to see you, Sir Jackson." Addie greeted, sitting down in the cushioned chair in front of Jackson. "Whose wish shall I grant today?" She set her purse down in her lap, tucking a bit of loose hair behind her ear. Jackson smiled, reaching into a cabinet out of Addie's line of sight. He pulled out a plain manila folder, sliding it over to Adelaide. "Christopher Lawrence, aged 17." This was the name of the wisher. Addie smiled and nodded, thanking Jackson, and beginning to leave. Before she closed the door, Jackson stopped her. "I just want to say," he started.

"Good luck."
