Author's Note (IMPORTANT): I know it's unlikely to put a note first before the actual story. I just want to inform you that WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO READ IS A FLASHBACK (the entire thing). It is the missing part that links Chapter 19 and a part of Chapter 20 (Bruno's POV). If you want you can go back to those chapters so you can recall.

Furthermore, I'd like to thank each one of you for the unending support. The year is ending and 2014 has been such a great year for me. There were a looooot of struggles but a lot of accomplishments too. One of which is writing this story. I started writing this last year on the 30th of November and I did not expect it to have the attention it is getting so far. My first story on wattpad was Trainstop and I'm not so proud of it lol (my grammar was just horrible hahaha) and at that time I only had like three votes then. I was so jealous of my classmates who were writers here as well bc they have gained a few fans already and I still was a nobody. Believe it or not, I cried over it. After I finished Trainstop, I swore I will never log in and check out my account ever again. Yes, I stopped writing and I just came back after months. Why am I saying this to you? lol. I just feel blessed right now to have readers and glad that I came back to write. It makes me feel so happy to know that people take time to read something I've worked hard for. It's been one of my sources of happiness. And I like reading your comments. They make me smile. So thank you, thank you so much. I'm so sorry for the slow updates. Thank you so much for staying and for not giving up on this story. You've made my 2014 extra special. xx

Chapter 39

a Saturday night at Meredith’s apartment

Bruno

I did not know what was colder anymore, the temperature of the apartment or the warlock and her real intentions. Still situated on the couch or what might be a bed of spikes without the glamour, I waited for what she has to reveal.

"What is the most common thing fairy tales have?" Meredith asked after a while.

"Uhh... happy ever afters?" was my guess to another of her questions that always didn't make sense to me.

"Good guess," she stated. "But I'm talking about a kiss of true love."

My reaction was quick. "Whoa! Wait, what? You want us to kiss?"

"It's the only way you could wake up from this dream—”

"What?" I exclaimed as I straightened my body up, breaking her off. "Dream?"

Her pools of red bored themselves into mine before replying, "This is all just a dream you are trapped in. And a kiss of true love is the only key to your escape."

"Holy shit," I swore under my breath as I leaned back down on the couch. "You mean I'm just asleep in bed and dreaming?" Extreme astonishment was written all over my face.

Slowly, she nodded her head, her thin eyebrows raised in the most nonchalant way.

"Holy shit, I knew it! I knew this isn't real!" I muttered, resisting the urge to jump and rejoice. Relief was a waterfall crashing down on my shoulders, carrying away the massive weight that had been sitting on them. "Then I guess I just have to wait until I wake up—”

My excitement was interrupted by the warlock when she said, "You won't wake up until you kiss her."

"But we've—”
