ryujin stood at y/n's doorstep, five seconds away from running away and pretending she was never there at all.
all morning she was in front of her mirror practicing ways to confess her feelings for y/n but it was hard, she didn't even know if y/n liked girls.
what if she hated ryujin after that? would she quit? would she be disgusted? no, y/n's to nice to judge someone based on the gender they like.
yet, ryujin still couldn't help but worry. she quickly shook her head and knocked on the door before she chickened out. "fighting!"
ryujin turned her head in shock at the voice, seeing the rest of itzy hiding behind the wall, "what the—"
"ryujin?" y/n's voice made ryujin look at her with wide eyes, turning back to see her members gone. "what are you doing here? did you leave something?"
"um, well, you see..." the girl stopped, taking a deep breath before speaking again, "you're really pretty and you make my heart want to explode and i'd really like it if you'd date me!"
y/n froze, mouth slightly agape at the confession, "like...as in...girlfriend date you?"
"w-well yeah."
"um, i-i'm actually extremely busy right now, um i-i need to go, sorry!" with that, y/n closed the door and locked it, leaning against it with a small sigh.
ryujin on the other hand frowned, hoping her members didn't hear any of this embarrassing situation—unfortunately for her, they did, but they didn't speak on it the entire walk to their dorms.
y/n could believe what she heard, ryujin liked her?
of course she was shocked, ryujin was amazing and talented, and she was just..her. how could ryujin like someone like her?
y/n cared a lot for ryujin (she cared a lot for the itzy girls) but she didn't even know if she like ryujin the same way the idol liked her. come to think of it, she hasn't had time to have a crush on anyone; she's never really connected with anyone as her job was her main focus.
she loved being around ryujin, she was funny, adorable and made y/n comfortable. y/n doesn't really know what her feelings are, is this just admiration for another friend or more?
even worse, she had nobody to talk to; after her whole meeting with her "friends" ryujin was the only one she could really talk to about it.
of course she had the girls, but could she really ask them for help on sorting out her feelings for their member—sorry, practically their sister?
y/n couldn't help but let her cheeks flush at the thought of dating ryujin, it's flustering to think about since she hasn't thought of a relationship in years; especially with another girl.
later that night, y/n couldn't even come up with new choreography since her mind was flooded with ryujin, all the past attempts of flirting that was aimed at her really just slapping her in the face. how could she be so oblivious to ryujin's feelings? how could she be so inconsiderate and leave ryujin at her front door after a confession just because she was afraid?
gosh, she could even imagine how ryujin felt after that.

ngl, i had bigger plans for this chapter but i realized if i made ryujin and y/n get together right away then like the book would be over. i realized i wasn't showcasing y/n's pov as much so that's going to change. i wrote down some ideas and planned this out a bit so now i know when i'm stopping and how i'm stopping it. sad or happy? you'll have to wait and find out ;)
