Cancer arrived a bit later than usual at the dorm. Her forensics instructor had assignments for her and Taurus that took longer than expected.

As she opened the door, Scorpio immediately hugged her. "What took you so long?! It's musical night!"

Cancer chuckled at the childish behavior of Scorpio. Musical night was a monthly tradition they all had where they would watch a musical bootleg. Yes, bootleg. They were broke students that couldn't afford tickets.

Cancer didn't have a problem with it. If it entertained Scorpio, it was fine. Pisces was a different case.

Slumped on her little corner, glued to the computer screen was Pisces - hastily typing away, bags visible under her eyes from the lack of sleep.

"Hi, Pi" Cancer greeted her sleep deprived friend. Pisces only groaned in response, resuming to tend to her barely legal job.

Scorpio led Cancer to the center of their dorm room, knowing better than to disturb Pisces before she finishes her assignment.

"So, what do you want to listen to?," Scorpio eagerly asked. "Dear Evan Handsoap? Meme Girls? Book of Jehovah's Witness?"

Cancer awkwardly shrugged in response. Scorpio took it upon herself to choose - as she always do. "Let's listen to Dear Evan Handsoap, then. Oh hey, Pi. Glad you could join us."

Pisces strolled into the room sluggishly, stress evident. "Hi."

Pisces could have slept right now, instead of listening to a musical she had practically memorized - but she didn't want to upset Scorpio by missing musical night.

"Pi, don't you think you should sleep?," Cancer asked, worried for her friend. "No, no. It's fine. It was my fault for procrastinating anyway."

Scorpio, who had just finished putting the musical on the speaker chuckled. "You better be careful with your job, Pi. I want to live, not die because my friend got tracked down by hackers."

"Aqua, get off me!," an angry Leo blurted out, squirming from her roommate's grasp. Aqua pouted, letting go of Leo. "You're no fun, Lee."

"Uh, guys. Remember that math competition I told you about?," Capricorn asked them.

The two gave her a weird look, wondering where that question came from. "You see, our class representative didn't show up today. And he never misses a competition."

Aqua just shrugged "he was probably sick. And you're probably just case starved. We haven't solved a crime in months."

Sighing, Capricorn reluctantly agreed. She did miss the thrill of solving a case, nothing interesting has been happening lately.

Turning off the lights, they all slowly faded to sleep.

Leo angrily slammed the door of their club room open, frowning.

"Whoa, what happened to you?," Sagittarius chuckled at his best friend's grumpy attitude. She shot him a glare and mumbled a reply "math."

"Miss Leo Lopez, you still don't know how to do math?," Sagittarius teased the girl. This only made her more angry as she shot him a glare once more.

"Fuck you."

"Fuck me."

"Get a room, you two!," Gemini hollered, sitting lazily on his recliner. He was playing chess with Aries, who seemed way too into the game.

Much like Aries, Virgo was also competitively playing against Pisces in a game of Mario Kart. Pisces had won lots of times, but Virgo seemed to persevere.

Much to their surprise, a person came panting into their clubroom, opening it in a hurry.

"My classmate - he's dead!"

•°•

Capricorn had been hoping for a case to solve. She wanted to feel the rush of catching the culprit. But when you're solving the case of your dead classmate, it isn't as pleasant.

The guy was named Marco Gomez, a mathematician and was one of the brightest students in their class.

He had fallen off the rooftop, the cause of death most likely suicide. Biting her nails, Capricorn couldn't jog up an idea on why he would kill himself.

He had a math competition the other day, and although they didn't know each other very much, he was a very cheerful person.

But now there he was, sprawled out on the lawn, his blood pooling from his head. The police had already covered the body and made sure that no one would go anywhere near the crime scene.

"I don't get it. This doesn't make sense, why would he kill himself?," Capricorn asked no one in particular.

"Because he didn't."

Taurus spoke in his usual stoic voice. He handed the others the forensic report that he had run. "He was on the influence of Belladonna as traces of the poison were found."

"So he was poisoned?," Aries asked. It seemed far-fetched. If he was poisoned, why did he fall off the rooftop? Why was he in the rooftop? And why weren't there fingerprints of someone pushing him off?

"He didn't die because of the poison, he died of the fall. Since the amount of poison he took wasn't enough to kill him" Cancer replied.

Everyone was confused more than ever. This case was nothing like they had ever came across before.

"He could have just took the Belladonna initially, it didn't work, so he decided to just jump off" Libra gave his insight.

"I don't think so. No student just had Belladonna on them for convenience whenever they felt like killing themselves" Virgo voiced out. "It must have been a murder."

"Following your logic, then wouldn't that also mean that no student has Belladonna on them? Unless your saying whoever killed Marco wasn't a student" Leo countered.

They were quiet once more. Maybe they should just leave this case to the authorities. But then again, they had always helped the authorities in cases, it wouldn't seem right to back down on this one.

Aries cleared his throat, getting the attention of his fellow detectives.

"Well then, let's do this the organized way. Pisces, Virgo, check the CCTV footage and retrace Marco's steps. Aqua, Scorpio, Capricorn, you three interrogate people the victim knew. Gemini, Cancer, Taurus, you three will research about Belladonna and how he could've acquired it. The rest of us will investigate the crime scene."

Nodding, everyone had gotten to work as they separated into teams. They hoped to give new light into this case and solve it for the sake of the victim.

As they set off to find answers, they didn't know that they would find something far more sinister.
