A Goof and an Uppercrust | Max Goof X Reader [Rewrite]

Chapter 1

I turned back to him with a normal expression and sighed before saying, "Sure, go ahead," I kicked my skateboard up and grabbed the end with my hand before tucking it under my arm. Bradley walked over and I handed the skateboard to him before stepping off the halfpipe. 

Honestly, him taking my skateboard is better than him telling on me to mom or dad.

I watched as he started to gain speed and height as he pushed against the ground with his foot. He then suddenly went up the full length of the halfpipe and balanced on his hands with the skateboard balanced on his feet, making me cross my arms and roll my eyes.

Of course, he always has to show off, no matter what.

He skated down the halfpipe again and went up the other side, quickly doing a nose grind as he made it to the top. 

But, I must admit, he is a good skater. 

Bradley continued to do tricks for a few more minutes before Aria called for us. "Bradley! (Y/N)! It's time for dinner!" she called out, making Bradley stop himself in the middle of the halfpipe. "Thank you, Mrs. Aria! We'll be there in a second!" he called out, making Aria smile and nod her head before going inside.

"Hey, can I have my skateboard back?" I asked as Bradley hopped off the halfpipe with my skateboard under his arm. "Hm? Oh yeah, here," he replied, handing it back to me before walking towards the back door. 

I looked at his back in confusion before looking back down at my skateboard. Did he just-? Did he just give it back to me without any teasing or fight? That's really unusual. 

"(Y/N)! Come on! Mrs. Aria made your favorite!" Bradley exclaimed, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Oh, right! Coming!" I called back, running to catch up with my brother.

Dinner time was always awkward, but this dinner takes the cake.

It was silent except for the sound of utensils and the sound of eating and drinking. I gulped down a bit of my (F/F) before taking a sip of my water. I would usually enjoy eating (F/F), but the energy at the table was making it hard for me to. 

"So, (Y/N). What is your major going to be?" my mom asks out of nowhere, making me internally sigh. I'll have to say what they want me to say. Biology major.

"My major is going to be Biology, mom," I said before taking another bite of my food. "Good, you'll become a great scientist that way," she remarked. But I don't want to be a scientist, I want to be an author and photographer...

"Make sure you stick to your word. We want you to be successful and happy," my dad said, making my mood drop more. "Yes dad..." I replied before taking another drink of my water. 

My parents started to talk with Bradley about college and other stuff, making me eat a little faster than before. When I finished, I didn't bother to ask to leave the table, I just collected my dishes and walked into the kitchen where Aria was washing dishes. 

I walked next to her and asked, "Is it okay if I leave me dishes here?" She turned to me, looking a bit surprised before replying, "Oh! (Y/N), yeah, just leave it there, I'll take care of it." I nodded and placed my plate and glass on the counter before walking behind her and towards the kitchen entrance. 

"Hey, (Y/N)," I heard Aria call out, making me turn around. "Hm? Yeah?" I asked. "If you need anyone to talk to or anything at all, come to me or call me, okay?" she said, looking at me tenderly. I gave her a small smile back and replied, "Okay, I will," before walking out of the kitchen and down the hall. 

God, why doesn't anything I do please my parents? 

I looked at the family portrait of my parents, me, and Bradley on the hallway dresser, making me smile a little. I'm done being in Bradley's shadow, and I will be what I want to be, not what my parents want me to be!

I continued to walk down the hall and up the stairs, deciding to spend the rest of the night in my room.

I'm going to be what I want to be and I'm going to get out of my brother's shadow, no matter what.
