Within Shadows (Zuko x Reader)

Chapter 10

"Uh about two hours each." Chung replied.

"And we have five touches so that's-" Lily stupidly lights the last four and with a smile on her face adds. "Ten hours!"

"It doesn't work like that if they're all lit at the same time!" Sokka scolded as he took the torches and stomped out the flames and walked off.

"Oh... Right..." Lily spoke. Sokka rummaged through Appa's saddle looking for something.

"I'm going to make a map so we know exactly where we're going. Then we should be able to solve it like a maze and  get this through." He spoke and began to lead the way.

You all got sperated. Aang was with Katara while you and Sokka were stuck with Chung and his group. You all made a move on and Chung was singing. "Oh don't let the cave in get your mood down. Don't let the falling rocks turn your smile into a frown." He continued on. The others walked on ahead while you stuck by Sokka who was clearly annoyed.

"At least we have each other?" You questioned meekly and rubbed the back of your neck. He let out a sigh.

"Yeah... Guess you're right about that." He said and sent you a weak smile.

"We'll get out of here, Sokka. I know it." You spoke softly.

"I sure hope so..."

"Shit... More wolf bats..." You grumbled as you saw them coming towards you. And at this point, you didn't care if Chung and the others knew you were a Fire Bender. You sent a blast of fire at oncoming bats and made sure to defend Sokka in the process from being attacked.

"Hey! You saved us (Y/n)!" Chung cheered.

"That's a new response to my bending..." You muttered to yourself.

"No those bars were trying to run away from something." Sokka informed. You glanced back at him.

"From what?" Chung asked. And just on cue, the tunnels began to rumble. Two badger moles burst out. Blocking both sides of the path. The created separation between Sokka and you and Chung's group. One of them began approaching you and Sokka. Sokka stumbled back and fell and his finger hit the guitar playing a note and stopping the Badger mole. It tilted his head and Sokka grabbed the guitar and played it as best he could. The other Badger mole paying attention too.

"Hey! Those things are music lovers!" Chung exclaimed. Sokka then tried to sing about them.

"Come on guys help me out!" His voice squeaked. Chung just so happened to have another guitar and played a better tune than Sokka and even began singing. You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. Sokka smiled and got on a Badger Mole. He grabbed your hand and helped you up and allowed the moles to get you out of there. The two of you finally reunited with Aang and Katara and said your final goodbyes to Chung and his group and continued on your ways.

"The journey was long and annoying but now you get to see what it's really about. The destination. I present to you, the Earth Kingdom city, of O-... Oh no..." Your breath hitched at the sight before you. Omashu was adorned with several Fire Nation flags.
