"Thank you, Iroh... Having these talks with tea always makes me feel better." You muttered softly. The old man returned a bright smile.
"Of course, (Y/n). You're family to us." You stood up from your spot after drinking the last bit of tea in your cup.
"Means a lot to hear that... I'm going to head to bed, goodnight, Iroh."
"Goodnight (Y/n)." With that, you left the room and made way to your room. As you were, Zuko was coming down your direction but you avoided eye contact and moved past him and into your room without a word.
~~~
"I'm taking your crew." Zhao blurted once he entered the room. You stood beside Iroh keeping quiet.
"What?!" Zuko exclaimed as he shot up from his spot.
"I've recruited them on a little expedition to the North Pole."
"Uncle. Is that true?" Zuko asked the old man beside you.
"Im afraid so. He's taking everyone. Even the cook..." Iroh pouted. You pat his shoulder gently.
"Even (Y/n)?!"
"That's not a bad idea..." Zhao mused.
"Not gonna happen..." You growled.
"Anyway. Sorry you won't be able to watch me capture the Avatar. But I can't have you or your lap dog getting in my way again." Zhao turned his attention back to Zuko. Zuko growled and lunged forward but you stopped him and kept him back.
"No! Zuko it's not worth it." You eased the boy. Though your attentions moved to Zhao who approached two swords hung on the wall. The two swords Zuko used to be the Blue Spirit. You held your breath while Zuko visibly tensed beside you. Zhao grabbed one of the swords and inspected it.
"I didn't know you were skilled with broad swords Prince Zuko."
"I'm not. They're antiques. Just decorative." Zuko lied through his teeth. Once Zhao looked away and onto the blade of the sword you gave Zuko a small smile as a "good job" for lying.
"Have you heard of the Blue Spirit, General Iroh?" Zhao asked. Running his hand along the blade.
"Just rumors. I don't think he's real." Iroh replied. Zhao approached you and Zuko.
"He's real alright. He's a criminal and an enemy of the Fire Nation." He handed the sword to Iroh. "But I have a feeling justice will catch up with him soon." He headed towards the door and stopped at the door frame. "General Iroh, (Y/n). My offer still stands. If you change your mind." And with that he closed the door and left entirely. Leaving a heavy sense of tenseness in the air.
~~~
"The crew wanted me to tell you they wish you safe travels." Iroh spoke, peaking into Zuko's room.
"Good riddance to those traitors." Grumbled Zuko.
"It's a lovely night for a walk. Why don't you join (Y/n) and I? It would clear your head." Zuko remained silent and stared up at the ceiling. Iroh frowned. "Or just stay in your room and sit in the dark. Whatever makes you happy." He left the room but you entered it and was silent for a moment.
