Daija rubbed her sanitized fingers along his soft pale skin. She still couldn't wrap her mind around the fact that she's somebody's mother. Just thinking about him growing up walking around the house crying out "Ma" or "Mommy" is unbelievable. She just wished she would've waited a bit longer in life to have him but overall she doesn't regret having him at all. She just now have to work her super hard for them both now. "You know you may want to go ahead and let him know your scent." A woman called out from beside her. Daija turned and looked at the older looking woman maybe around her twenty's, her light brown hair was thrown up in a messy bun with lots of stray aways. "It's one way you can bond with a preemie." She informed. Daija just nodded her head and gave her a small smile. "How do I get him to know my scent?" Daija asked. "Bring in one of your t-shirts or something then have one of the nurses put it in with him." She told her. Daija nodded her head and bit down on her lip peeling away the skin. "I'm Tonique and this here is Amaree. She's been here for 6 weeks."

"I'm Daija and this is ..... my baby boy." Daija shrugged. "You don't have a name?" Tonique questioned. "Nope. He came to early for me to come up with one." Daija told her. "Oh, I understand. It took a minute for me and my baby father to decide on Amaree. I wanted something unique and different but as time went by we just put Amaree Taylor on her birth certificate." Tonique chuckled as she played with her daughter's hand and feet. "Same. I want him to have a name that's not for everybody." Daija told her. "When did you have him?" Tonique asked peeking over at Daija's baby. "Had him last night. He put me through the worse. Water broke around eight that morning and then no movements for the afternoon then boom he hit me again at night." Daija explained. "Dang. She came and went. No problems." Daija and Tonique talked and talked and enjoying talking to each other. She told Daija everything she needed to know about caring for a preemie because the nurses will leave some things out. Daija and Tonique stood there with their babies and talked to each other for over 20 minutes. Tonique really liked having somebody to talk to other than her baby's father. The other parent that usually comes in doesn't talk. She just handles her business and leaves. "I can't wait to go home though." Daija said rolling her eyes. "You'll be home in a day or two." Tonique told her. "Cause honey I'm ready to go take a extremely hot shower, get in some comfortable clothes, and eat some good food because this gown and nasty behind food here is going to put me to rest." Daija exaggerated. Tonique quietly laughed as she understood exactly where she was coming from.

"You had me all over this hospital looking for you." Teala peeped in the room before walking in. "My bad. I had to see my baby." Daija smiled ear to ear as she softly squeezed on his small tiny hand. "Well get the fuck out the way and let me talk to TT baby." Teala squealed pushing Daija out the way. "Don't touch him." Daija told her as she moved out the way. "I wasn't going to honey." Teala bent down slightly so she could get a closer good look at him. "Wellll, at least we know this ain't Elijah's." Teala shrugged. "Teala." Daija said sternly as she looked at Tonique, who she could tell got surprised by that comment. "Some stuff you don't say around other people." Daija told her. She didn't want nobody making assumptions about her and the situation she went through. "Daija, this girl here." Teala nodded towards Tonique. "Is nobody." Teala mugged. Tonique scoffed and ran her tongue across her top teeth. "Y'all must know each other?" Daija pointed between them. They both stood quiet and Daija just stood there looking lost. "Okayyy. Now I'm talking to myself." Daija said sarcastically. "Yes Daija we know each other." Teala said turning around to look at Daija. "How?" They all looked towards the door as somebody else walked in. "Mmh, that's how." Teala pointed out. "Wassup baby?" He kissed Tonique on her forehead. "Hey." Tonique said dryly. Once Daija got a good look at him her eyes widened and she pursued her lips together. Teala stood off to the back giving him the meanest nastiest look. He looked at Daija first then at Teala and the whole vibe in the room changed. "What's going on Tee?" He smirked. "Marquez don't say shit to me." Teala quickly told him. "Damn I can't speak to you?" He laughed. "Please be respectful of your babymother." Teala held her hand up to let him know to not say nothing else to her. Tonique just stood there she didn't know what to do nor what to say and that left Daija dumbfounded. Marquez and Teala never went public with their relationship nor was they really in a relationship. They were pretty much in a secret open relationship but with Teala there's just some things you don't do and Marquez did something he shouldn't have done. "Come on, me and you, let's go outside and talk." Marquez walked over to her and grabbed onto her arm. Teala looked up at him and sighed heavily, "I'll be back." She looked back at Daija. Daija just nodded her head and went back to minding her business.
