Mina's POV

I was wide awake when my alarm clock went off. I went into the bathroom after selecting my uniform from my closet. I proceeded out with my school uniform and shoes after some time in the restroom. When I got downstairs, Mom was preparing breakfast.

"Oh Mina, you're already awake. Come here and eat breakfast," she said, while putting pancakes on my plate.

I quickly sat down and started to dig in. "Where's dad?" I asked.

"He's already at work, sweetie."

"Alright."

"So, how's school?" Mom uttered as she sat in front of me.
 

"Well, it's good, especially when I have my friends to hang out with."

"Good to hear. By the way, since it's almost your semester break, your grandmother suggested we take a vacation in Japan!"

"I'm not sure about that, mom; I'm too busy with schoolwork."

"Busy with schoolwork or busy with your friends?"

"I don't know, maybe fifty-fifty ," I said hesitantly.

"OK, just let me know if you want to join us, okay?"

"Yes, mother."

Suddenly, a loud knock was heard.

"Who do you think that is?" Mom called to ask.

"I'm just going to open it," I said as I stood up and went to open our door.

I opened it and found my friend Dahyun, smiling early in the morning.

"Morning Mina!" she greeted cheerfully.

"Good morning too Dahyun" I greeted back.

"Mina, is that Dahyun?" we heard mom's voice, coming from the dining room.

"Yes it's me auntie" Dahyun shouted backed.

"Mina let her in" commanded my mom.

"Come in Dahyun" I let her in.

"Dahyun join us for breakfast"

"No need auntie, I already finished" she softly refused.

"Wait here I'm just gonna get my bag" she nodded and I went to the dining table.

"Bye mom we're going" I kissed her cheek.

"Okay be good at school"

"Arasso" I headed back to Dahyun.

"Let's go" I stated.

"Let's go... bye auntie"

"Goodbye be good at school, both of you" she waved at with a smile.

We started walking because our school is just few meters away. It was silent but not that awkward.

"So how's your weekend?"
Dahyun spoke, I looked at her and sighed.

"It's just the same boring weekend for me. How about you?"

"Same but I'm started cooking" she uttered proudly.

"You?... cooking?" I looked at her in disbelief.

"What's the problem with that?" I shook my head but giggled, I remembered something.
