Within Shadows (Zuko x Reader)

Chapter 5

"Fine." The captain spoke and headed off into the woods. The sun was slowly but surely beginning to rise. You all began to wait for them to return and surprisingly within ten or so minutes, they arrived back with Aang and Sokka. You hit yourself a little more within the guards. Not wanting to be seen by either one of them.

"Nice work." Zuko mused as he approached the pirates with the scroll in hand.

"Aang... This is all my fault." Katara apologized to the boy who was practically giving her sad puppy dog eyes.

"No Katara. It isn't." Aang assured.

"Yeah... It kinda is." Iroh plainly added, gaining a look from Katara.

"Give me the boy." Zuko demanded the captain.

"Give us the scroll." The captain bargained.

"You're really going to hand over the Avatar for a stupid piece of parchment?" Sokka suddenly spoke up surprising everyone around.

"Don't listen to him! He's trying to turn us against each other!" Zuko snapped. Though the captain ignored Zuko's demand.

"Your friend is the Avatar?" He asked and looked at the monk.

"Sure is! And I bet he'll fetch ya a lot more on the black market than that fancy scroll!" Sokka replied enthusiastically. It was honestly comical watching this unfold.

"Shut your mouth you water tribe peasant!" Zuko snarled.

"I'm just saying. It's bad business. Just imagine how much the Fire Lord would pay for the Avatar. You guys would be set for life." Sokka now had it in the bag at this point.

"Keep the scroll. We can buy a hundred more from the reward we can get from the king." The pirates turned and headed towards their ship with Sokka and Aang.

"You'll regret not taking a deal with me." Zuko hissed and send an attack their way. All but one of them dodged the attack and rushed forward, tossing little balls at Zuko and dodging another blast and jumping into the large puff of smoke.  More smoke bombs got set off and guards for dragged into it. An all out battle starting and you took this time to rush over to Katara.

"You again?!" She whisper yelled. You gave a nod as you burned the ropes around her wrist.

"I think I've made up my mind. Though I can't let Zuko know." You quickly explained as a lemur crawled down the tree and onto your shoulder. "Oh hello there." You said and pat it's head but moved your attention back to Katara.

"Thanks. I guess I owe you one." You gave her a nod.

"I'll follow you guys but I need to make sure I'm unseen." You uttered and she nodded, helping you through and avoiding any sort of battle. You saw Zuko get out of the puff of smoke and battle the captain. You and Katara made way to the pirate ship and were trying to push the ship into the water. But it wouldn't budge.

"Katara! You're okay!" Aang exclaimed. Causing both you and the water bender to look over at Sokka and Aang. "And... Other girl. I'm sorry I didn't catch your name.

"It's (Y/n). Listen, I'll explain everything later, we need to go." You spoke a little hurried.

"Yeah exactly. Help us get the boat into the water so we can get out of here." Katara spoke. Aang and Sokka nodded and rushed over to help push it but it still wouldn't budge.
