Love. Lies. Words. Phrases.
Empty shells, and plain blank pages.
The world we live in. The lives we crave.
Sorrows we bring to the grave.
Can't forgive them. Can't forget.
Fill their hearts with deep regret.
Dark and shallow. Cold and cruel.
Is this the world you meant to rule?
The clock won't tick. It's too afraid.
Of twisted nightmares that you've made.
You can't go back. It's much too late.
You've shattered all of your clean slates.
Whisper softly. In my ear.
Tell me what I want to hear.
Hollow words. Vain excuses.
Burn the village, tie the nooses.
Drifting ashes. Embers glow.
Devastation. Rage and woe.
A tired world. Burning cold.
I'm told it once was warm and bold
But now it's wasted. Evil, too.
A Phoenix burns to start anew.
