Hitoshi was confused, to say the least.

The first thing that set him off was the scraggly looking cat on the roof of a building adjacent to his bedroom window at five in the morning. For one; how the hell did it get up there? Did it need help getting down?

Through a sleepy haze, he still tried to formulate thoughts as to why there was a knotted furball of a cat so high up. Even his own bastards stayed close to the ground, and they thrived off of mischief.

Ever the heroic type, Hitoshi risked being late to school to make sure the cat was taken care of. It took a bit of maneuvering to wriggle himself out of the window and onto the rooftop without falling, but he'd done it before. Getting down would be an issue for another time.

Now safely on the roof, the purple haired teen kneeled down and held his hands up, palms out, as to not frighten the animal. Which didn't work all that well. Good news; the cat definitely had a working set of vocal chords. Hitoshi didn't even know a cat could get that loud. Like, damn, wake the entire neighborhood up while you're at it.

Daring not to move forward and startle the cat, Hitoshi silently observed his surroundings. On top of the building with him was a handful of pigeons, a shit ton of trash, and a sleeping teenager with green hair.

"Wait, what?" Hitoshi had to do a double take on that last one.

Sure enough, in a crudely constructed tent, lay a relatively small person sleeping soundly. God, Hitoshi hoped they were only sleeping.

As if knowing where the human's line of sight landed, the cat padded over to the tent. Still obnoxiously mewling. Good lord, the pipes on that animal.

Hitoshi had a bit of a dilemma. He could leave and pretend like none of this happened, in case the other person woke up and vibe checked him. On the other hand, they also could be intoxicated, concussed, severely injured, perhaps dead.

Curse his spiteful hero complex.

Making his way over to the small tent, Hitoshi kept his hands visible and his pace slow. He could see that the green haired kid was wrapped up in a worn, fluffy blanket starring none other than the number one hero. Other than that, there wasn't much else to comment on, besides a cardboard box, and a backpack still secured to their back. It couldn't have been comfortable at all to sleep like that. Hitoshi knows a thing or two about bad sleeping habits.

Now at the edge of the secluded rooftop camping setup, Hitoshi's sweatpants covered knees scraped the cement as he eased himself down. The cat, although significantly less vocal, remained wary of the human approaching its friend.

Every movement Hitoshi made was slow and calculated. He was unsure of where to go from here. He could shake them awake, or check for injuries without waking them up. That would be creepy, though.

Not noticing that his indecisiveness left time for his presence to be known to the tent's other occupant, Hitoshi was easily taken by surprise.

Within moments, he found himself pinned under forty kilos of green haired child. Despite taking a clearly larger opponent down so quickly, the kid didn't seem threatening in the least.

Splatters of freckles adorned rosy cheeks rounded with baby fat, eyes taking up a better half of his face. His hair, a similar green-black to his eyes, curled out from under the hood of an All Might sweater. He was cute, but in the way a puppy or a chibi cartoon was.

The greenette wore an expression of panic, limbs trembling and mouth wobbling. Hitoshi wanted to say something— anything at all— but his mouth was absent of any of his usual witty remarks.
