Our Last Letters

What happened to Maggie?

I finally come back after a few months after receiving a letter from Liam, he is still in the hospital, very sick he had to add. I just couldn't be a part of the band anymore. How could I when the girl I love chooses another guy?

Maggie has been missing too he said. Where has she been? I stopped trying to look for her when I left. It just wasn't the same for me. I missed her, but why chase a girl who never wanted you in the first place.

Niall showed me Liam in his room after the episode he had, it was terrifying. Never did I want to see that again. Liam in life support with his taped shut was not an image I wanted to see. He wasn't the Liam I knew and loved. This was a Liam he kept from us, never letting us see how bad it could be for him. I wanted out of there so bad.

"Can we leave now?" I asked Niall as he nodded his head. I was already to the door, so I just opened it and ran out. How could I have left? I needed to be here for him. He was so sick with no one to lean on. Even Niall and Harry didn't come see him as much. Like they disappeared as well. Never would I have left knowing what I do now.

I was at the double doors to the hospital when I noticed Niall wasn't behind me, so I went to go look for him. This hospital was way too big and too many rooms. That's when I heard Cher if that's her name tell Niall that Maggie was here. Wait? How? How could she be in this hospital. Nothing needed to happened to her. I still had the letter in my pocket as Niall gave it to me to read. I held in my hand as I walked to the direction of Niall's voice and it wasn't good.

"What do you mean Maggie is here?" I tapped him on the shoulder. He knowledge I was there and so did Cher.

"Louis this was supposed to be a private conversation" She said to me as if it didn't matter to me what was wrong with her.

"Cher you do know I was her boyfriend right? I have a right to know what is going on." She signed as if she was upset with what I had to say.

"You haven't been here. For no one, so no I don't have to tell you anything." Mad, I stormed away from them. How could she do that to me? Maggie was my whole world my whole state of being. She was ripped away from me like I meant nothing to her. It hurts so much to know everyone hates me too. I went through the hospital and passed Liam's door. I heard sounds coming from his room, so I decided to open the door and look in.

Liam was struggling to open his eyes. He was moving around struggling to get the tape off his eyes. I walked up to him, helped him with the tape. He shut his eyes a little bit then they sprang open to him starting to panic, this time because of the tube down his throat or to seeing me I didn't know.

"NURSE!" I yelled out the door, trying to get him some help removing the tube. A nurse came in and started to get to work on checking up on Liam, removing the tube and checking his vitals. It was weird watching him like this. I never thought about him having to go through this. I wish this part of him wasn't a secret anymore. He has a major problem. We need to be there for him in any way possible.

As the nurse finished him up, he looked at me shocked. Giving me the face of where have you been and what are you doing here. The nurse walked out of the room this is when it got heated.

"Louis, where have you been?" I shock my head. This question is about to get old.

"I left to never return. I don't belong here anymore Liam. You have her. I have no one." This answer didn't sit well with Liam.

"I don't give a fuck about that mate! You left me here! You didn't care that I helped you live. I am dying possibly because of the help I gave you Louis! Don't you understand?" His voice was very weak and raspy. I kinda wanted to laugh at the fact he was trying to sound mad, but couldn't.

"I left for me. I am selfish, you guys are better off without me. I came back because you said you were in the hospital and couldn't find Maggie. Apparently now I know where she is and it's not far at all" Liam looked as if he was hit in the face, he never knew how I felt about her truly or him.

"What do you mean?"

"Maggie is here, at the hospital. They won't tell me anything. More like Cher won't." Was he trying to get up? No that can't happen I tried to push him back on the bed. He was going to fall and hurt himself and I can't have that too.

"No you are not getting out of this bed."

"We have to find out what happened to her Louis." Does he not realize I could do that myself? I am the one who can walk and not fall over objects in my way.

"I can try my best and find out something Liam. Please stay in this bed while I find someone who can actually tell me something about what happened or is happening." He didn't like that I made him stay in his place. I would never do that unless it was completely in reason.

"Louis I'm sorry for yelling. You just left us in a time we needed you the most. Please go find her." I walked towards the door when I remembered the letter in my hand.

"Do you want me to read this?" I held up the letter so he could see it which I know he probably couldn't.

"How'd you get that?"

"Niall told me to read it before we mailed it, but I don't think we need to mail it now." He gave me a slight chuckle.

"I guess not. I really only wanted her to read it. If that's okay? For now." I understood exactly why. It must had been personal.

"Of course. Now let me find out what is going on." I opened the door as he said goodbye.

Did I really want to know what is wrong with her?  Will it change everything? I don't know, but I have to find out.
