“What? No.” I answered
Then Will walked in to the kitchen wearing a polo shirt and trousers “Am I missing something here? Why are you guys all dressed up?”
“It's (Y/N)'s bi--”
“It's my idea! I feel like dressing up today so I told Will to join me. If you want to join us, you're always welcome.” I faintly smiled
“Yeah sure, after I shower.” He said then he walked out “Breakfast also smells good, babe!”
Will confusedly look at me and said “Did he just forget your birthday?”
“It sounds like that but I hope not.” I said trying not to sound disappointed
“Or maybe he's just planning to surprise you so he kind of intentionally forgets your birthday?” He said trying to cheer me up
“I don't want to assume, just let him be.” I said and continued cooking breakfast

It's already around 8 in the evening and Niall's in the living room having a zoom call with his best pal, Lewis Capaldi. They've been talking for hours now.
I've been thinking about what Will said a while ago about Niall 'intentionally forgetting my birthday' because he was going to surprise me. But the day is almost over so I don't think he is going to surprise me.
I was a little sad Niall have forgotten my birthday. It's the first time he missed it and we've been dating for two years now and I couldn't believe he didn't remember.
To distract myself, I'm in the balcony scrolling through my DMs trying to answer all of my birthday greetings from friends, families and fans.
Then the doorbell rang so I stood up from my seat and walked over to the front door. Will already opened the door when I made it to the foyer.
“Hey! Happy birthday!” My best friend exclaimed when she saw me
Since we are still in quarantine, she is wearing a face mask and gloves. We are literally talking one meter away.
“Thank you! You didn't have to come here and bring me all of those stuff.” I said
She was bringing balloons, a cake and a basket of gifts for my birthday.
“(Y/N), I'm your best friend. I'll do everything for you.” She said
“Here, I'll take them.” Will said as he take the balloons and cake from her
“Thanks, Will.” I said as he walks away bringing them to the kitchen
“I really appreciate you coming here.” I said as I take the basket from her
“Wait, before I leave.” She said as she takes her phone out “Let's take a photo, birthday girl.”
After taking a couple of photos, she left. We were so sad that we couldn't hug each other before we part ways. When I locked the front door, I walked over to the kitchen but I stopped on my tracks when Lewis called me.
“(Y/N), happy birthday!” He said and I smiled at him
“Thanks, Lewis.” I said
I felt Niall tense up when Lewis greeted me a happy birthday “Enjoy your day today. It's sad we couldn't hangout and party.” Lewis said
“I know, but it's alright. It's for our health and safety, anyways.” I said “Well, I'll leave you two now. You guys look busy. See you soon!”
When I walked in to the kitchen, Will set the balloons up and opened the box so I can see what the cake looks like.
“(Y/B/F) went all out for your birthday.” He chuckled
“She sure did.” I said as I put the basket down on the kitchen island
“I'll leave now.” He suddenly said making me furrow my eyebrows in confusion
When he walked away, Niall entered. It was an awkward silence between us. I opened one of my presents from my best friend so I won't feel awkward around him. It made me grin when I see that she got me the book that I've wanted to read for so long.
“(Y/N).” Niall said
“Yeah?” I casually said
“I'm sorry.” He said and I just nodded “I didn't mean to forget your birthday. I really didn't.”
“Okay.” I softly said
He walked closer to me and wrapped me around his arms, gently swaying us side to side “Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday my dear (Y/N), happy birthday to you.” He softly sang to me “I'm really sorry, love. I'm the worst boyfriend on the planet, I admit it.”
“You're not the worst boyfriend on the planet.” I chuckled “Don't be too harsh on yourself.”
“Now I know why you and Will are all dressed up.” He said still not pulling away from the hug “You also look sexy on that dress, love. I like it.”
“Thank you.”
“What do you want me to do for your birthday. Anything, just name it.” He said “I really want to bake you a cake but your best friend got you one already.”
“Can I have a cuddle of Niall Horan instead? I really miss that. And I also want a bunch of kisses for the rest of my birthday.” I said making him smile
“You can always have that even it's not your birthday, love.” He chuckled
“Okay, uhm. I want cookies. I want you to bake my all-time favorite chocolate cookies.” I said
“Alright, cookies coming right up!” The way he said it made me laugh “Baker Niall Horan is now on the go!”
“You're crazy, Ni.” I giggled
“Wait, I need an assistant. Will!” He shouted
“Yes?” Will said when he entered the kitchen
“I need an assistant in making the birthday girl's chocolate cookies.” Niall said in a different accent
“What's with the accent?” Will asked in confusion
“Just go with it.” He whispered
“Oh. Okay, sure.” He said “Uhm, where should we start, sir?” Will said trying to mimick Niall's accent making me laugh harder
Definitely the best birthday ever.
