"I don't want to argue either. Do you think I have nothing better to do than wait around and plot arguments? No."
"Then if you're going to say something to me, tell me directly. Don't beat about the bush."
He sighed, "Let's go home."
"I'm just going to keep they're company."
Andrew rolled his eyes, "Gabriella that's why their married. They have eachother. You can check in on them later." He started to lead her to their vehicle.
She removed her hand from his grasp. "But that's my family you're talking about. I won't leave them in a time like this. I have to care for them. They're all I have."
Stunned, Andrew backed away. "Gabriella did you just say that? To me?"
"Yes. Any problem?"
"You suprise me sometimes. Even when I shouldn't be." He turned and walked off.
Gabriella was already upset by his attitude. Why should she bend to meet his desires just because he wanted it. There were many times she asked the simplest things from him and he wouldn't be bothered.
Andrew
I hate her.
To him, she was just as inconsiderate as she claimed him to be. He kicked at the piles of pebbles as he walked along the stretch of road behind the clinic to blow off steam.
I should have known better.
He earnestly regretted the day he made the decision to marry Gabriella. He spent countless nights thinking of the 'what if's'. He should have left her to marry her ex and not interfere. He should have known that the few days of happiness wouldn't last long, knowing her history. He found himself hating David slightly for suggesting such an idea and himself for being stupid enough to agree to it.
The only light at the end of the tunnel is they'll be divorced and it was approaching soon. The marriage was set on lies, betrayal and all other weaknesses a marriage as fragile as theirs could have. He never wanted to be married. He was stupid to even enter one with his mindset. He couldn't wait to be divorced and far away from her and everyone connected to them.
All he wanted was his peace of mind, in the tranquility and silence of a forest, living off the land and being one with nature. Away from all the superficial cares of life. From where he stood, he saw her walking to where her mother stood near her parent's vehicle. He scoffed at the sight.
How dare she!
It wasn't based on their relationship- that's non existent. The only thing keeping them together is the marriage certificate, for now. It was about her repeated and blatant disrespect for him. What about his ego? She defied his authority. How should he feel if his wife left him alone when his friend was just buried. How embarrassing it is when a wife leaves her spouse to fend for himself and goes to her family claiming they're 'all she has.'
Then what the hell am I?! A Jackass?!
He didn't let his mind dwell on those thoughts. He turned around again and walked further away from the clinic. He would return when he'd average they had left. His cellphone rang shortly after. He pulled it from his pocket and checked the caller ID.
Amelia.
He declined the call and jammed the phone into his pocket again. He didn't feel like listening to her problems when he had his own. He walked a few more blocks before he found a corner store and entered for snacks in hopes that would quell his vexation.
