It was a sunny beautiful day, Ellie, a 6-year-old, kind, pretty little girl who always has her ponytail tied with an elastic band shape like a cute puppy was waiting for her daddy to come and take her home, btw she loves her dad! They do everything together, play together, sleeping together, and lots more! Her dad never ever misses any Ellie's karate, or days that are special to his daughter. But...Ellie doesn't understand why her daddy been very sad for a long time, sometimes he came home with empty bottles, sometimes with a white powder in his hand, sometimes he even cries, all of that makes Ellie very worried about him. She was thinking about it until she saw her dad, smiling and waiting for her. Immediately, she rushed to him, hugged and kissed his white, sweaty cheek as always.
"Hahah! There's my little girl! How's school, today sweetie?".
"Fun as always!!" said Ellie!
"Haha! Good to hear that! Now hop on the car!".
Ellie obedient and hop on the car. After they drive for a while, Ellie asks about the strange behavior of her dad for a few weeks:
"Daddy? Can I ask u something?"."
Sure pumpkin, what is it?".Ellie silence for a while, she said:
'' Why there's always empty bottles and white stuff in a plastic bag in your hands except for now cause u are driving?''
James was shocked, he stuttered:
'' Uh...u..u see it is not important, it just makes me a lot happier!''
James' eyes started to get wet, he tried not to make any sound so his little daughter doesn't have to worry about him.
''Oh..ok!I'm just curious!'' said Ellie'' I wish mum was here to make u feel happier''.
James really doesn't know what to say, now his thought was all about Caroline, his wife. The memory just coming back to him, he remembers when he met her at a bar, he remembers their first horrible dates, how she always there for him, how he always been grateful to become her husband, he still remembers how she looks in her beautiful dress, her blond straight hair, her beautiful blue eyes, for real he will never think that angel is real until he sees Caroline...
''Uh, dad?We here!dad?''
James snaps out from his adventure going deep in memories and stops the car.''Ye...yes!We here!'' said James, Ellie giggles a little bit, James laugh a little bit, feeling a little bit ashame. After they done dinner and James helps Ellie with HW, he has to go back to work. When he was at the door, Ellie holds his hand she asks:
'' Daddy, please don't go, do u really have to go? Can you please come home to read me my bedtime story?''.
''Of course, I will come home as soon as possible, so you don't have to wait for me, ok? I will always there for you when you needed, love you!''.
''Love you, too !''
He said while kissed her on the head then left. James works at a horrible place, the building looks like it gets abandon for a century and people work there treated him like garbage, James really doesn't want to work there but he has no choice cause no one from other places would hire him. As he sat down on his chair, his boss David came in. David was a skinny, bald guy who always grumpy and ignorant.
"Well, well look who shows up? I thought you wanna spend time with your precious little girl!''
James tried to control his anger, for a second he thought he actually gonna punch this guy for real.
"Well, probably no one is gonna hire you anyways cause of your criminal record, you should be happy and grateful that I'm giving you this job, so...'
David put a big piece of paper and pin it on the board near James. The paper got written by a big sharpie pen, it said: ''DON'T FORGET, YOU ARE HERE FOREVER.''
James looks at it with a painful face while David has a big smirk in his face.
"Now get back to work!''
David shouted and left, James continues working hard. When he came home, he expected Ellie gonna rush and give him a big hugged as usual but that doesn't happen.
''Ellie? This is not funny!''
Asked James
''ELLIE!ELLIE??!''
Shouted James. He rushed to every room in the house, trying to find her but she's nowhere to be found. After a long time, he's now desperate, feeling like the worst dad in the whole world, he flips the table , makes dishes crashed into million pieces. After calm down a little bit, James saw a piece of notes on the ground. He quickly grabs it and starts to read. His face suddenly turns pale when reading it, he can't move his body, he sits on the ground, thinking what to do next, forgetting that the sun starts rising to start a new day...
