Chapter 6

Dani's pov

I sat on my bed, my eyes welled with tears. I flipped through a photo album, the only way I could travel back to the days before the crash.

I saw pictures of me and my mom, dad and brothers. We were such a perfect, happy family

"WHY ME?" I screamed throwing the book

I curled up into a ball and cried into my blanket

I heard Cam come in and he hugged me.

"I know short stuff I know" he said rocking me back and forth

"No you don't Cam you don't know!" I screamed

His face grew hurt and saddened. I instantly felt bad

"I'm sorry Cammy, I just, I want to be alone" I said curling up in my blanket

He nodded and gave me one quick hug, then left closing the door behind him

I laid in bed just thinking about my life. I was a girl in the six grade. I was supposed to be living in New Hampshire right now. With my Mom and Dad and brothers.

My brothers were supposed to become huge sports stars. Now they never will.

Mom and Dad were supposed to live their life in happiness and grow old together.

But they never will

I got out of bed and picked up my book. I slowly looked at each page, each picture and remembered the story behind each

I cried but this time I was smiling, remembering all the good times we had together

That's when I realized how lucky I was

I did lose my family, but I also got a family that loves me just as much as my birth one did

I have a older sister, who is my best friend and I tell everything to

I have a mom who gives me everything I need, and adopted me after 5 months of me waiting

And I have a big brother, who may be over protective but is my best friend and I love him more than anything in the world

I wiped my tears and climbed out of bed. I went into the kitchen and I saw mom. I ran over and hugged her

"Thank you" I whispered

She hugged me back

"For what baby girl"

"For being my mom and loving me" I said so quietly I wasn't sure if she heard it

Mom didn't say anything, she just hugged me long and tightly

Once I let go I went to Sierras old room. She had moved out about a week ago (😏)

She lives about 15 minuets away and is here a lot.

I called her. It rang for a second but she picked up

"Dani?" She said

"Thank you for being the best big sister I could ever get, I love you so much" I saw very quickly

She didn't respond for a second

"I love you too mini munch" she said as her voice broke

I didn't respond

"Why don't me you and mom go out and get our nails done?" She said

"That sounds good, but Cam will be mad" I said giggling a little

"There's that laugh" Sierra said and I could practically see her smile

"I gotta go talk to cameron, love you bye" I said ending the call

I walked down the hallway to Cameron's room. I paused for a second but the knocked

"Come in" he yelled

I walked in and looked down but went over and sat on his bed

"I'm sorry" I said as my eyes welled up with tears

"Come here munchkin" he said pulling me onto his lap and rocking me back and forth

"I miss them" I said through my tears

"I know you do short stuff" he whispered

I could hear his voice breaking

"Thank you for being my big brother, I love you so much" I said into his shoulder

"I love you too little sis" he said kissing my head

"Are you ok?" He asked pulling away so he could look me in the eye

I nodded and he pulled me back into the hug

"Good because I can't have my princess being upset" he said

I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck. He carried me out to the living room and we watched Disney channel and cuddled till Sierra came

"Your leaving me?" Cam whined

"Only for an hour, you'll be fine" mom said laughing

We got in the car and drove to the salon. On the way there we jammed out to some country music

At the salon, I got my nails painted a sparkly light purple

"You know, justin Bieber's favorite color is purple" I said admiring my nails

Mom and Sierra just laughed

"Mom, Sierra, the obsession is real, don't judge" I said popping my hip and adding some sass

This made them laugh even harder. We got back in the car and drove to a Dunkin Donuts. I got a coolatta and I got Cameron one too.

When we got in the house, I didn't see cameron

"CAMMMYYYYYY" I yelled walking up the stairs

All of a sudden I felt and bunch of packets of skittles hit my head

"TASTE THE RAINBOW" Cam and Chris as they hi-fives each other

"Jokes on you, skittles are my favorite, and cameron I'm taking you coolatta" I said with a smirk as I grabbed as many skittles as I could and ran to my room

I sat down alone for a second until cameron and Chris burst in and tickled me

I screamed and squirmed and laughed. Chris was like an older brother to me.

"I'll be taking this" cam said as he took the coolatta

"Fine by me" I said eating my skittles

The boys left and I put on some comfy clothes and went and watched a movie with them.

My family knew exactly how to make my day better
