A Chance At Happiness {COMPLETED}

Surprise...

It was Gala weekend and I was in no mood to go it. I talked to Raghav who said we have to go. Usually we went because Shaan forced us but now we have to go even thought he is not here. 

"Maasi, I think it is enough mixing" Karthi interrupted my train of thought.

"Yes, that should do it" I said and was taking out the baking tray.

"Nirvana madam, Someone is here to meet you" Munna(Helper) told me.

"Thank you Munna, I will be there, Ask them to sit" I said to him.

"Now we put the batter in to the tray and push it in to the oven for How many minutes?" I asked Karthi.

"25 minutes" Karthi answered.

"Correct" I said smiling at him.

"I will go see who has come to meet me, You come to me if you see anything wrong with the cake, Okay?" I asked Karthi.

"You go I will look after the cake" Karthi said not taking his eyes off the cake.

I left smiling shaking my head. I went to living room to see the whole family along with...

"Shaan" I shouted and started running towards him. He held me tightly as I hung to his neck giving him a tight hug.

"Shh...Vana...I am here...Stop crying now" He said petting my hair.

"I hate you" I said hitting his chest and rubbing my eyes and nose.

I hugged him again "They told me you went on a mission and they could not divulge any details... I was so scared" I said still crying.

"I wanted to surprise both of you for the Gala" He said pulling me out of the hug.

"I still hate you for making such a hideous reason...You scared us" I said.

"Aww...I am sorry Vana...Now stop crying and introduce me to your family" He said wiping tears of my face.

"Everyone, This is Shaan...My best friend from 8th grade" I said.

"Shaan...this is Aunty, Uncle, Maanav and Karan" I said while he shook everyone's hands.

"Uncle shaan" I heard and then saw Karthik running towards Shaan.

"My Favourite Nephew, How are you?" He said lifting shaan in to his arms.

"I am fine and I am your only nephew." Karthi said cheekily.

"That's true, What are you doing?" Shaan asked.

"I am making a cake, Do you want to eat it?" Karthi asked.

"I would love to have it but how about first I talk to your Maasi" He asked.

"Okay" He said.

"Why don't you show him the house, Nirvana" Uncle said.

"Yeah, Come on" I said smiling.

I showed him the house and went to my room.

"So, Raghav tells me you have feelings for Karan" Shaan teases me.

"He is exaggerating, I have same feelings which I have for you" I said.

"What brotherly feelings?" He teased me more.

"Chee...noo...friendly feelings" I said.

"Well from where I see it you might have a severe crush on him." Shaan said.

"I might" I conceded.

"I mean...He is so sensitive...he takes care of his family...he helps his brother with his problems...he treats Gyan as his own sister...he is so good to Karthik...he makes me laugh...he bitches along with me about my colleagues." I said smiling.
