Dear Jay and Gang

It pains me a lot to leave this letter instead of saying goodbye face to face, but I couldn't stand seeing the hurt in your eyes as I left so a letter will just have to do. Growing up in the Isle of the Lost was one of the most entrancing moments in my life, taking candy from babies, literally. When we first arrived at Auradon Prep I had felt super nostalgic and now that I have left , the same feeling has made its way back into my heart which honestly saddens me. I decided to leave because I realized that I was too dependent on you guys to come to my rescue every time, so I left to pave a path to call my own, away from the shadows of my mom and my friends. I grew up with a mentality that was plastered into me on being "INDEPENDENT". I was taught that independence meant standing on your own two feet and fending for yourself which... was true for the most part but you guys taught me that the power to independence was having friends and families who trust, understand, care and love you. What I can say is that without you guys in my life I wouldn't have been the Carlos you've known for so long and I want you to know that I'm grateful for the support you've given me over the years and I love you very much.

"Well that definitely hurt me more than I hoped", Jay said looking at Mal and Evie who were also crying. "I just wonder how we'll break it down to Jane that Carlos left, she'll be really heart broken". Jay said sighing softly into his hands, wiping away his tears.

(Jay's P.O.V)

We left the room with a feeling of deep melancholy filling us, my best friend and the light of the whole crew was gone and I had to break it up to his girlfriend that he disappeared into thin air without a goodbye, "What to do, what to do?", I mumbled to myself as I walked down the corridors of Auradon Prep. I looked over to my locker and saw Jane, this was going to be a lot harder than I thought.

Here goes nothing, " Hey Jane, how are you doing?!" I cringed at the last sentence I've never asked a person how they were before, it was a weird feeling. It sent shivers down my spine, I was about to back out but she saw me, so here goes nothing.

"So I wanted to speak to you about something important, it's about-" I was cut off as she said something I did not expect.

"Carlos, yep I already know he said he was leaving and I'm really not in the mood right now so can we talk later, because the love of my life just left me..." She trailed of as tears fell down her face and little sobs began to escape from her mouth, it was hard seeing her like this but I wasn't sure of what to do so I pat her on her back and she suddenly pulled me into a hug and cried on my chest.

I didn't reciprocate the hug though, feeling very uncomfortable as I felt my face turn red. It was very awkward until I saw Lonnie walking towards us and I gave her a pleading stare, she just laughed and gave me a small shrug before walking towards us and grabbing Jane's shoulders so she could look at her.

She fell into Lonnie's arms and I saw it as an opportunity to leave, I watched as Lonnie gave me a death glare but it was her friend, she decided to form a bond with Miss Clingy over there. I didn't hesitate and I ran towards the sport field to find Ben, sorry... King Ben with my other team mates, "Gosh," I let out a quick sigh, I was saved.

I walked towards them and their faces changed, I saw sadness and worry in their eyes as mine landed on the blue pair belonging to King Ben, "Hey dude why is everyone so glum, did someone die?" I asked trying to initiate a conversation but they all pulled me into a bear hug. Ugghh they knew very well I hated being touched but they did it anyway.

"Jay we are so sorry, we heard that Carlos left and I'm sure that must be hard for you since he's your best friend". I pulled my shoulders down not realizing they were tensed, I embraced the hug and it felt soothing. In the Isle this was never the given treatment if our parents found you all lovie dovie you would be punished.

Speaking of parents I haven't spoken to my dad in a week I wanted to tell him about my pendant, it was glowing non stop and I needed some answers, "Sorry for sounding rude King Ben but I need to inform our parents about Carlos leaving so I'll see you guys later okay?" I said and they all nodded.

I ran towards the study hall to call our parents and my father immediately answered, this was so unlike him. "Let me guess your pendant is glowing", he said with an evil grin on his face, the one he only used when he was hatching up a plan to escape the Isle, I nodded and he yelled "It's time!!!" I furrowed my eyebrows unable to comprehend what he was saying.

All the parents came up and they all looked at my dad with happiness in their eyes like the phrase my dad used was a code for something, but that will end when I tell them about Carlos.

I clenched my teeth as I tried to figure out the words to tell them that Carlos left Auradon, "Ummmm everyone can I get your attention" I said softly at the screen, they were still rejoicing so they didn't hear me "Hey! Listen up, now!" I yelled not scared of them anymore.

They lost their cool and started yelling back at me all at once, I lost it and blurted it out because they were refusing to be adults "Carlos left Auradon and we don't know where he went, he left us a letter telling us the reasons, so I thought you guys should know."

They just seemed unshaken as I told them the news and that infuriated me. I started balling fists at my sides and my dad spoke some words I haven't heard in a long time "THE CRYSTAL WILL DESTROY" he said worrying me with the way he said it. I turned to leave but he said something else "Turquoise" I looked at him in confusion and he repeated "Your pendant was glowing in a turquoise colour" I turned at him confused, how could he have known? I nodded and stared at him confused I wanted some answers but I knew I wouldn't get them so I turned around heading for the door but he said one last thing before leaving "Vicious Evil is coming".

I gave him a blank expression and then left as they laughed with evil in their voices. I needed to find Mal and Evie, this was vague but was beginning to sound familiar. I hope I'm wrong, but whatever it was we needed to stop it.
