Bendy POV

I adjusted my apron as I walked in the aisle between the tables to give a family their orders. I've never liked working as a waitress since the tips were crap and it was usually chaos. I walked over asking for the order I asked for earlier again as I heard more commotion occur in the kitchen. I couldn't help but laugh a bit. That was always the usual in the joint. Serving tables, cleaning, then leaving.

How They Met.

I was in the middle of refilling my jug of water as my friend Boris was behind me.

"You know there's this new deodorant, what I heard is it's really good." I say striking conversation. He looked at me before looking at his shirt.

"What are you saying I sweat?! Do I smell?!" He asked as I held back my laugh.

"No Boris! I was just saying-" I was cut off by the cook in the kitchen at the serving window who told us we got a new customer. We looked over seeing a mouse walk in holding a book and a rose as he sat in a booth.

"Okay your turn." Boris told me as I looked at him.

"What? Why?" I ask not wanting to serve.

"I'm sweating to much" He said mocking our earlier conversation as I roll my eyes grabbing a menu. I walk over to the mouse guy as I placed a menu down on his table.

"You waiting for somebody?" I ask as he looked up at me shaking his head

"Something to drink?"

"Some water thanks." He told me grinning. I raise a brow it him before nodding.

"I'll give you a minute to look over the menu" I tell him turning away.

"That's okay I was in here yesterday, Bendy." He said as I looked back at him a hand on my hip. I let out a scoff as I faced towards him. He tried to ask for my real name but I shook my head no. Did he really think Bendy wasn't my actual name? What a maroon, I'll just let him believe it then.

"I like it, don't you think it's negative though?" I look at him. Was he really trying to be funny? What's this guy even want?

"No, I don't tell my real name." I explain briefly taking the menu from him as he handed it to me. Which was a lie but he didn't believe that was my true name so whatever.

"I'll take a grilled cheese with potato chips and soup, thanks." He orders as I nod walking past him.

"I write books. Do you read books? What's the last book you read?" He asked me as I lean my head back. I walk back over facing him once again.

"You know Finagles Wake?" I ask. He shook his head.

"My friend told me it's the hardest book in the English language. Well hardest one to read, not really the hardest hardest." I say as he seemed interested, or at least faking it.

"How long have you been reading it?" He asked me.

"Six years." I lie as he raised his brows. I walk away again this time he didn't say anything. I ringed his order up on the computer as Boris came over to me.

"He like's you" He tells me.

"He's a dick." I respond as I go over to the soup and grab a bowl.

"He was in here yesterday you know?" I nod as I poured some soup in the bowl.

"So!? He was in here yesterday, came back today, brought a rose, and tried to engage in conversation!" He remarked as I sighed.

"Okay so he likes me!" I exclaim quietly as I grab a glass filling it with ice water.
