Chapter 1: The Town with Pep

Like any other day in Riverdale, the sky was clear and the birds were chirping. The town seemed happy and peaceful just how Alice Smith wanted it to be. Almost arriving at the new house Alice and her daughter Betty were in their car in silence, Betty was leaning on her hand looking out of the window dreading going to school the next day.

Alice looked at Betty for a few seconds and said:" Cheer up Elizabeth this town is nice and I know you will like it here."
Betty looked back at Alice and muttered:" it's a town with 'pep' but someone got murdered here."
"they did?" Alice asked.
Betty said, still resting on her hand, "yeah, shot in the head by his own father."
Alice frowned in shock "oh my God! He was arrested right?"
"he hung himself before the police could come," Betty explained.
The car went silent again till they got to the house. Alice pulled up to the modern building and Betty sat up impressed by it.
"How did you afford this mom!" She said proudly.
"I used the money that we got from your Grandmother's insurance," Alice said whilst opening the car door "now come help me bring some boxes in."
Betty also got out of the car and got a box labelled 'Betty's room' and carried it to the door whilst she looked at the appearance of the house. Alice unlocked the red door and pushed it open for Betty to the walkthrough. As she stepped in, looking around the house almost mesmerized, she put down the box and continued to look around the house from the kitchen with an island to the bedroom with an ensuite. After looking at every inch of the house she rushed back downstairs excited. All the boxes had been brought in by Alice. As she put down the last box she said with a smile "do you like it?"
"i love it mom!" Betty replied enthusiastically.
"Good, are you excited about your new school?"Alice smiled with her hands on her hips.
Betty's smile dropped hearing the word 'school' "A new school already? I really don't want to be 'new kid'"
Alice then folded her arms "Well it's tough, and you can make new friends," she then smiled "oh and the moving truck will be coming next week with our furniture"
"next week?" Betty said, surprised "what am I supposed to sleep on?"
"The blow-up bed." Alice said, pointing to the box.
Betty groaned and opened the box and began to blow it up.

Later that evening with the bed successfully blown up, Betty sat in it with a blanket and her Macbook and googled about her new school Riverdale High. She seemed intrigued to find out there was a school newspaper, the blue and gold, Betty has been wanting to do journalism, like her mother, for a while, she then saw the 'Vixens' cheerleading team and rolled her eyes. Sometime later she closed her laptop and went to sleep excited for her first day at school.
