Hey hey hey. How are y'all doing?

Thanks for the request

Note: (Y/U) means Your Username, (F/G) means Favourite Game

You sat in a murky cafe, staring at the raindrops. An aroma of coffee swirled around you as the soothing conversations rose. The air was warm against your skin, yet your fingers were still freezing and the gloomy atmosphere outside made you shiver. The homework you had gotten from school was piled up in an intimidatingly high stack, but you decided to ignore it anyway. It wasn't like you never procrastinated this bad in the past before, so the teachers were used to late assignments. Well. At least they weren't incomplete and are better than decent. You told yourself, looking back at the chat room, waiting for a reply.

They've been typing for five minutes. This better be good, You think before checking back.

(Y/U): Do you want to play (F/G) with me?

Applepi: Typing...

Eyes straying, you watched the rain slide down the glass. A notification popped up, as you jerked back to the screen, eagerly reading the message, that was surely long.

Applepi: Ok

Irked, you wonder why it took them five minutes to send two letters, but you opened the game anyway. You and this 'Applepi' person had been gaming buddies for a few months now, having first met on a Minecraft Pocket Edition server. To be exact, Turf Wars in Mineplex, which both of you were boss at. Judging by their skill at the game, they had probably played on Pocket Edition before, which meant that you didn't have to be the biggest loser in the world alone. Who played Minecraft Pocket Edition when they had PC edition? (A/N: Me, that's who)

After a few rounds, you guys moved to a different game. Your weekend afternoons were always wasted away like this, waiting for the mysterious entity: 'Applepi' to come on, and then play games with them for the rest of the day. Then, you two would destroy the gaming community. Correction, Applepi would destroy the community as you tagged along like poop trailing a goldfish. A very skilled goldfish. They didn't seem to mind, though. Even with your catastrophic skills at any game except Minecraft Turf Wars, they let you take half the glory for winning, most of the time. Even when you almost made them lose.

You had found yourself rushing through the week to game with Applepi. They said they lived in Tokyo, which wasn't that far from your home in Sendai city, Miyagi Prefecture, so your hours could line up.

The minutes passed, and a quiet chime alerted you, and you opened the chat tab.

Applepi: Video call?

You deadpanned at that. They never asked me that before. Mind you, asked them, and they declined, saying: our chat is already good enough. Sighing, you contemplate replying with a 'no' because they did before, but decided against it. Replying with a casual 'sure', you wait for the call. Accepting, you put on your gaming headphones and stare at the black, loading screen.

Suddenly, three faces popped up, and their voices bombarded your ears. You jolted back, confused. You only caught one boy, with dark hair that looked as if he didn't comb it from the day he was born before two other boys crowded to look at the screen, blocking out the bedhead. The one on the left had a mohawk and the other had his chocolate brown hair gelled up. You thought it looked like a spiky churro, but you'd never say that out loud.

"A girl?!" Mohawk-man exclaimed, while the other looked amused.

"Woah!" The churro exclaimed.

The bedhead pushed the other two away from the screen. "Tora, Inuoka, don't scare the girl! We don't want Kenma to get mad at us." You cocked your head. Kenma?

"Er... Hello?" You try, awkwardly. You've never been the most sociable person, with only a few close friends.

"Ah, so it's you that's been occupying my friend, Kenma's, head, right?" The bedhead asked. You blink a few times.

"Um. How would I know?" You reply, bluntly, before looking away in disappointment. Here I thought I'd see 'Applepi' for the first time, but I see a rooster-head, a monkey and a churro. Great. Sighing slightly, you gave a small glare at the camera, and was about to start scolding them. However, a placid voice interrupted your thought.

"Kuro, Inuoka, Yamamoto what are you—"

"ABORT MISSION, ABORT. MISSION," the mohawk-man interrupted before the three scrambled away from the camera and the door slammed, leaving a very baffled boy staring after them. You watched in silence, an amused look plastered on your face. His golden, cat-like eyes turned to the computer, blinking once, before sighing. What a mood.

"So... Hello?" You ask, cluelessly. Sure, it was funny but what the heck was going on?

"I'm sorry about them," the boy came over to the computer. Eyes flickering over him, you note a few things about his form. His eyes were beautiful, his hair was long and dyed blond, but the roots were showing, making him look like a pudding. Which you thought was cute. "Who... are you?"

You pout.

"Well, who are you?" You reply.

"I asked first."

"I asked second."

The pretty boy sighed once more. "I go by the username: Applepi. If you didn't catch my name when Kuro said it, it's Kenma." You smiled, radiant from the thought of actually seeing the pro-gamer that you'd befriended.

"I'm, (Y/U). My real name is (Y/N). Nice to meet you, Kenma!"

___

You were waiting restlessly, moving your weight from one foot to another. Anticipation crawled into your body, making your heart palpitate loudly. Hoping that the people around you couldn't hear your heart's obvious beating, the bus came.

Why were you so excited?

Well, why wouldn't you be, when you'd see your online best friend in person? And why wouldn't you be when you've developed... feelings for that specific person? You found yourself awaiting the days to tick by, the seconds dragging unbearably slowly, and then the golden, quintessential times when you'd game with Kenma would always shoot past. Sometimes, the two of you wouldn't even game, and would talk to each other via video chat for hours on end. Every second when you couldn't see Kenma made you ache.

You checked your phone again, staring at the destination. Nekoma high school. Kenma had said he'd be there waiting for you, after his practice. The bus ride would take thirty minutes from the station to his school. Thirty long minutes, that would drag on forever.

After an eternity, the bus chugged to a slumbering stop, allowing you to stumble off. The impatience was almost visible, rising like steam from your skin. Once your eyes met, you didn't have time to wonder how you'd greet him. You didn't have time to even say hello, until you were rushing towards him, effulgently smiling. Even the sun couldn't compare to the brilliant beam you wore on your face.

"Kenma!"

He gave you a small, rare smile, before embracing you warmly, but tightly.

"Hey, (Y/N)," he whispered into your hair.

"Hey," you mumbled back.

And this...

This was all you ever needed.

GAH. My first chapter is DONE.

As you probably guessed, the ending was a bit rushed. But the original would've been too long, so...

Anyways, oO0Green_Tea0Oo, I hope you liked it, though it isn't my best work, hehe.
