Roxy's POV
"Where are we going?" Izzy asked "Blueberry is a long way from here don't you think? " I was a little surprised that she actually agreed to the date, seeing how hesitant she was.
"No, we're not going to Blueberry." I said "We're going to Monets. It's a bit like Blueberry but fancier and a bit more sophisticated in a rough kind of way." Monets was my second favourite coffee shop after Blueberry. It had this authentic rustic look to it that I liked, and they make good coffee too. "You'll like it."
Internally, I was a bit nervous about the whole thing. I don't know why exactly but I really wanted her to like it, to like me. I really hope she likes Monets. Now if I was nervous about her liking Monets then I was freaking out about what I was just about to do. My mind told me not to. Now do I listen to my mind? Yes. But not right now. I probably really should though.
"So." I started, trying to get my nerves under control. "If we're going on a date then we might as well." I offered her my hand. My heart was beating violently. It was like grenades were blasting in my chest. I hope she didn't hear it.
Izzy's POV
"So." Roxy started, her voice sounded a bit unsure. Thay was very unlike her. "If we're going on a date then might as well. " And offered me her hand. I raised an eyebrow at this.
She wasn't showing it but I could see her getting more and more nervous by the second. It was cute though. I smirked internally, and decided to pay her back for the uncomfortableness she caused me earlier.
"Are you really offering me your hand?" I asked incredulously, raising my eyebrows at her. I saw her confidence falter for a second. Internally I grinned mischievously at her.
"Well that depends on your answer." She said with an easy smile, but I could see right through it. She was getting more nervous now. Her hand was still outstretched.
"My answer, huh? A yes, maybe a no, maybe I'll answer with maybe, watcha think?" I mused, looking at her in amusement. I saw her confidence go down 5%.
"I'd really like it if you say yes, if that helps." She replied, nervousness still not that evident in her voice.
"Really now?"I mused "I'm feeling a bit inclined to say no though." There goes another 2% of her confidence. Just as she was about to pull back her hand I said "But.." she stopped and looked at me. "I guess, 'might as well'." I finished with a sigh. But on the inside I was grinning like a maniac in victory. I grabbed her hand and we continued walking. I felt her relax beside me. Take that girl! We're on equal scores now.
Roxy's POV
I internally sighed in relief as she took my hand. I knew what she was doing, she was playing with me just like I had played with her before. And I liked it, it was fun. She wasn't gonna just take what I throw at her, she would throw it right back. I really liked it.
We reached Monets, and took a table at the back. Just as we sat down, a waitress came up to us to take our orders.
"I'll take French Vanilla." Izzy said. "And I'll have a Caramel Mocchiata" I said. She wrote down out orders and said it'll take about 5 minutes.
"So." I said as a conversation starter " is stalking people your hobby or am I a special case?" She laughed. She looked good while laughing. Whoa Rox! Not too fast. Play it cool and slow. Cool and slow.
"Oh no, I just saw you across the street and decided to follow you." She said as if it was completely normal for a person to follow someone else. Then again normal's overrated. "Sureee" I allowed dragging the word.
"It's the truth! Anyway tell me about yourself."
"About myself huh? Who's to say you're not a kidnapper just collectinginfo on me." I wiggled my eyebrows at her. "Anyway my name is Roxane Mercer, I'm 14, I go to Midtown School of Science and technology, and am an all-round awesome person to be around but many douchebags would disagree so don't listen to them." I whispered the last part as if concocting a scheme. She laughed at my summary. "What about you?" I asked.

A mixture of madness
FanfictionRoxane Mercer would never have thought just what one day of skipping school would lead her to in long term. Meeting Izzy Carbonell was a... unusual thing for Roxy, even by her standards (which are pretty weird might I add). Nonetheless Roxy looked f...
