16: The hideout

"Hello there kid," The voice said "I've been waiting for you."

"W-who's there?" I asked.

The lights turned on only to reveal Giovanni and my father locked inside a cage.

"Caroly!? What are you doing here??" My father asked.

"I came here to save you!" I said determined.

"It's too dangerous!" He said.

"I know what I'm doing..." I said.

Well... Actually I didn't know exactly what I was doing... I just wanted to save my father that I didn't even had thought about it correctly...

"Now give me the Pikachu and I'll let your father go." Giovanni said.

"Not so soon..." I said "I have an offer."

"I'm all ears." The man said.

"Let's battle." I said "If I win, I'll keep the Pikachu and you'll free my father, but if you win you can keep the Pikachu..."

"Alright," He said "But with one condition..."

"What is it?" I asked.

"You can only use one pokémon and you can't use the Pikachu." He said with a smirk.

"I... I accept..." I said.

I couldn't lose, my father and Electra depended on me.

The battle was about to start.

"Persian, come out!" He said as the normal-type pokémon got in the battlefield.

"Type: Null, I choose you!" I said as he got in battle as well.

"Persian use play rough!" Giovanni commanded as the pokémon obeyed using the fairy-type move.

"Type: Null, dodge it then use crush claw!" I said as he dodged it but used Aerial ace instead, still causing a lot of damage.

"Seems like your pokémon doesn't care about what you say..." Giovanni said with a grin "Such a shame for a strong pokémon... Persian, use slash!"

"Type: Null..." He didn't let me finish the command and used x-scissor. "What are you doing??"

"I'm battling." the pokémon said.

"We have to work together in this... A trainer and it's pokémon share their feelings during a battle!" I replied.

"But I don't need a trainer!" He said as he proceeded with his attack that was very strong.

I could feel the anger he had. He was using that in battle. But what was upsetting him?

"Persian, use feint!" Giovanni commanded but Persian didn't have time to move as Type: Null used crush claw. That was enough to make the him faint.

"Persian, return. C'mon Nidoqueen!" He said as the poison/ground-type pokémon got in battle. "Nidoqueen, use earth power!"
