Once I was done in the bathroom I cleaned up and made my way downstairs waiting on the couch

I been doing good keeping up the house the last 2 months with my arm messed up shit was crazy

A door knock rung through the house making me jump up heading towards the door opening it

"Come on" Roderick said walking out to the car

I grabbed the key to the house before locking the door walking out behind him

"What's been going on with you?" Roderick asked as I got in the car

"My stomach been hurting , I've been coughing , and I feel lightheaded sometimes tired" I sighed putting on my seat belt as he backed out

"You sure you just ain't pregnant?" He joked but I didn't laugh

"Oh shit" he mumbled as the gate opened

"You really pregnant" he yelled making me smack my teeth

"No you idiot I didn't even fuck kentrell yet" I said making him breathe out holding his chest

"That's good that's good" he mumbled acting unfazed waving at the guard as he drove out

"It's getting worse and there's nothing I can do about it" I sighed letting the seat back

"Nah don't say that you can just start on yo chemo again" he said looking at me then back at the road

"Mama cancelled it after kentrell said he'll pay for it" I said looking at the roof

"Fuck is wrong with her?" He asked mugging making me shrug

"You know they say quitters never win and winners never quit" I mumbled

"Sure" he shrugged

"I think I'm that quitter that won't win" I said lowly looking out the window

"Kahlo you 18 and finna graduate then after that-shit before that yo cancer gon be gone , top can take you to yo lil prom or whatever then y'all will be on y'all own shit" he said making me shake my head

"Don't feed me a false reality Roderick you and I both know it's out of reach now we just gotta let life play it's role" I shrugged closing my eyes

"See that's that negative shit I'm talking bout lemme call up to top prison right quick" he said making me groan

"Noooo he already going through his own shit why you doing that" I whined as he called

"Yea is this east Baton Rouge parish prison" Roderick asked making me smack my teeth

"I'll pay y'all double amount to sneak a phone inside a jail cell right quick" he mumbled
