Day 124: Trust Myself.

Deep within the enclosing confines.
Of a mind so monstrous, so malicious.
As the sick, twisted hatred bares down upon me.
Is this really the world we've created ourselves?
Looking around me, I see nothing but pain.
It seems the real monsters live inside of ourselves.

I can see him, he clouds my vision.
He is there, weighting me down.
Staring at me, with intent so malevolent.
To act innocent, how hard he tries.
To act like a friend, the attempts he makes.
But I know better than to trust myself.

To those surrounding me, the danger draws near.
If I were to set free this beast, would my soul be safe?
This creature inside of me, how it yearns for its freedom.
As humans we destroy ourselves, looking on in ignorance.
Nothing we do now, can hope to repair a damage so great.
We have none but ourselves to blame, there's no going back.

I can see him, he clouds my vision.
He is there, weighting me down.
Staring at me, with intent so malevolent.
To act innocent, how hard he tries.
To act like a friend, the attempts he makes.
But I know better than to trust myself.
