Girl Meets Permanent Record

It's been a couple of months since school has started and so far it's been going good Aiden has come to school yay Lucas still doesn't like him oh well I can't force them to be friends for my sake but it does suck because sometimes I can't hang out with Lucas as much as I used to I'm either with him when we are all in a group or in class other than that I'm with Aiden and his friends or we are by ourselves I don't know its weird not being with my friends all the time but we're in high school something's have to change right.... I was currently walking to my Spanish class when I felt someone walk up and grab my hand "hey let's skip I can not handle Spanish right now" Aiden said as I looked at him unsure "umm I don't know I've never skipped class before" I said as Aiden smiled "oh your so cute but come on I bet senora Feinstein chang won't even miss us" Aiden said to me and I still felt a little uneasy about skipping but that meant more time with him "come on we'll go get some ice cream I'll buy you something pretty" Aiden said as I smiled lightly "okay let's go" I said and he grabbed my hand and we ran out the school doors

once we knew Spanish class was over we headed back to school and finished it like nothing had happened once school was over Aiden had to go to football practice another reason Lucas does not like him he made the team and I had cheerleading so after that I was late getting to the bakery where everyone else was when I walked in I saw riley sitting away from the rest of the group "okay what's going on" I asked sitting beside zay on his stool and also sitting beside Lucas on my other side "riley got a D in Spanish and Maya got an A" Lucas said to me and I smiled "congrats on the A Maya" I said and she smiled at me "thank you dani speaking of which where were you you weren't in class" she said but before I could answer "D for disgrace" riley said to us making me roll my eyes looks like this was this weeks problem "riley it's only one grade" Lucas said "yeah you know how many Ds I got in middle school once I got 5 Ds in one day" Maya said "your Cinco D Maya" zay said making us all chuckle "oh I don't get it" riley yelled out frustrated "actually those Ds don't matter anymore Maya" farkle said "none of our old grades do" Lucas then said "we all start out as equals here because only our high school grades count on our permanent record" smackle said to us "what that's" riley asked finally coming over to us "it's our high school transcript" zay said "it's what college's use to decide whether to accept you or not" farkle said "did you skip class" Lucas asked me quietly "Aiden wanted ice cream" I said as Lucas shook his head "who cares he could have waited till after football practice he made you skip class" Lucas said in a quiet yell voice "he didn't make me I wanted to go your just mad because you don't like him" I said to him as he scoffed "yeah and talking you into skipping class is making me still not like him" Lucas said as I scoffed lightly but thought about it and maybe he was right

"wait so they don't care about middle school" Maya said turning my attention back to the other conversation the rest of the group was having "they only look at your high school grades" farkle said as Maya reached forward grabbing his shirt "then why'd you make me go all this time" Maya yelled at him "wait so nobody cares about all the good grades I got when I was a kid" riley asked "they only care that you didn't paste" I said as I started my homework "how long does that stay in you" riley asked as I shook my head "the one day I wasn't there" I said as I wrote in my notebook "boy all those years I went to middle school I could have been scratching lottery tickets and chugging sodie pop" Maya said as I smirked "well Maya you finally hit the jackpot I mean right now you could go to any college you want" zay said to her "what about me" riley asked "your her cute friend" I said as zay nodded "please don't give up on me college" riley said in a sad voice "college's don't only care about grades you know" Lucas said "they care about extra circulators" zay said "that's why zay and I are trying out for baseball" Lucas said as I nodded thinking that was a better fit for them "since the football team made their feelings about us quite clear" zay said as I smiled "it wasn't that bad" Lucas said "yeah it was" zay semi yelled at Lucas "they hit us so hard" zay said as I hugged him "it's alright baseball's our sport anyway" Lucas said as I nodded "yeah Lucas was our star in middle school" zay said as I smiled and looked at Lucas he was a star at everything "what were you" smackle asked zay who looked at me "he was his cute friend" I said to her as zay leaned back into my arms for me to hug him "it's okay honey" I whispered to him "I never got a D before" riley said bringing us back to that conversation again "I used to be the biggest star in middle school" farkle said "your still a star dearest one" smackle said making me smile at their cute nicknames "yeah but I used to be the north star I used to be the brightest star in the sky what do you do when you realize you're not the smartest kid in school anymore" farkle asked us "I don't know Maya what do you do when you realize you're best days might have been in middle school" riley asked Maya "I don't know why don't we ask my big fat honking A what do you do A" Maya said as she grabbed her test paper and placed it to her ear like she was talking on the phone with it "what did it say" riley said making us all shush her "Maya and A don't get to spend a lot of time together" zay said "let's let them have their moment" Lucas said as we all got up and walked out of the bakery
