You had a very bumpy relationship with your boyfriend San. There wasn't anything wrong with the relationship, but there was a lot of parent problems. San's father passed away when he was in high school and your parents pretty much disowned you because you started dating San, and luckily enough, his mom pretty much raised you along with San. You spent all your time at his house and she even let you move in. Things ended up changing when his mom ended up passing away in a car accident. You two only had each other, so that brought you closer than ever. Your relationship grew due to all the things that happened. But things changed even more when you got sick one morning. You were just not feeling it. You collapsed in the house when you were making breakfast for San who just woke up. When he took you to the hospital, they said you had cancer. This was the thing that changed your lives even more.

You laid in your hospital bed flipping through the channels on the TV waiting for San to come. He came every day and even if you told him to go home and rest, he still came. You were so lucky to have a boyfriend like him. you heard the door open snapping you out of your thoughts.

"Hey baby, how are you doing?" 

"I'm actually fine today"

"That's good. Here, I brought you some food."

"Awe Sannie, you didn't have to" 

"What? Can't I spoil my princess?"

"What would I do without you?"

"Not eat good food because this hospital food tastes like shit" He laughed as he started feeding you.

"Uhm, I need to talk to you about something..."

"What is it?"

"The doctor said I can leave!" 

"Wait really!!!"

"Yup!"

"No way! I can't wait for you to come home baby!" He said hugging you tightly.

"I need to tell him I only have a week left, but how. It'll break him" You told yourself as you hugged him back. 

Everything went by in a flash. One moment you were in the hospital. The next, you were at home with San. You felt completely fine, but the doctor said it would be like that for the first couple of days, and then you would start feeling really weak.

"Sannie let's go to the beach!" You said as you hugged him from behind. 

"Are you sure? Do you feel okay?"

"Yeah! Let's goooo" You said pulling him up to your room.

"Okay, okay. Let's go!"

Some time passed and you two were walking on the beach. There was no one else around and you two were just enjoying the sound of the waves crashing against the shore.

"Sannie"

"Hmm?"

"I need to tell you something. I didn't know how to say it before, but I really need to tell you."

"What is it?" San asked getting worried.

You took a breath before continuing.

"I-I only have a few days left..."

When those words left your mouth, San's face dropped. You saw his eyes tearing up as he pulled you into a hug.

"R-Really? A-Are they sure?"

"Y-Yeah.." You said holding back your tears. Shortly after you heard light sobs as San buried his head into your neck.

"W-Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I was afraid. I-I don't know what came o-over me" You said crying along with him. "T-The doctors said I-I'll be fine for the next two days. Then when the t-third days hits, I'm gonna be pretty weak. and then that's when..." You said trailing off as you just hugged San tighter.

"Baby..."

"I love you so much San. I'm so sorry"

"It's not your fault. I love you so much. You have no idea."

"P-Promise me one thing Sannie. When I'm gone, I need you to keep up with your life. Don't dwell over my death. Please, just promise me that one thing."

"I-I promise" He said sniffling as he kissed you passionately.

The next day, he made sure you had fun. You both knew that would be the last normal day together. Then the day came when you became weak. He never left your side. He tended to you and slept by you never leaving. When that last day came, he made sure you were comfortable, he made sure to provide you with anything.

"Sannie, I love you so much. Don't ever forget that. I'll always be in your heart. Keep that promise okay?" You said tearing up.

"Y/N, I love you too. I promise" He said holding your hand and kissing you.

That was your last breath. 

Your last words.

He promised you.

He never broke it.
