DAD! I'm home!" I yell down the hallway, the thundering noise of paws on hardwood erupts from the kitchen as Sumo bursts through the door at full speed, "SUMO! My chubby boy!" dropping my shopping bags I open my arms wide for the 160lb chunk of fluff. He knocks me flying backwards into the front door, licking my face relentlessly, "Where's dad huh buddy? Still at work?" I ask, squeezing his big floppy cheeks. Getting up slowly, Sumo wanders into my bedroom and hops on the bed. Dad will be at work for a few more hours yet, Detroit Police are busy now-a-days with all the deviant androids running about. I throw the bags onto the kitchen counter and wander back into my bedroom.

Taking out a pair of pyjamas, I slip them on, settling myself on the bed next to Sumo. Closing my eyes, the exhaustion slowly creeps over me, I welcome it and drift off to sleep.

I awaken to talking in the living room, one of the voices is definitely dad, the other is definitely new. Looking around the room, my vision focussing, I notice that Sumo is gone. Getting up and stumbling out into the hallway, I grab the wall to steady myself

"fucking blood pressure" I mumble. Just as I am about to walk into the living room, my face collides into a rock-hard chest. Looking up I see a pair of friendly, confused eyes studying my face.

"My scans suggest that your blood pressure is below optimal, might I advise a glass of water?" His eyes bore into mine, and I can't help but blush at his rather attractive face. Upon noticing the yellow LED flashing on his temple, those feelings falter,

"So, dad, who's the android?" I push past him and wander straight up to my father,

"Hank, why does she call you dad? I thought you only had Cole" the android questions. Grief floods over me, turning, I stare sadly at the android, his head tilting to one side

"How do you know about my brother?" looking up and down, I study the android's outfit, typical assigned suit, reflective blue arm band, serial number on his chest,

"RK800? I have never heard of you. What's your assignment" I whisper, staring at him in curiosity.

"My name is Connor, I am the android sent by Cyberlife to assist Lieutenant Anderson, my mission is to locate and eliminate all deviant androids and return them to Cyberlife for testing" he blurts out, straightening the tie around his neck. I straighten up and cock an eyebrow,

"So, you are law enforcement, aren't you a little too good looking to be a cop?" Connors LED flashes yellow then red for a second. I can tell he is taken back by my compliment but remains stoic except for a slight pink tinge to his cheeks. Dad interjects before Connor can answer me

"Look Madelyn, sweetie, it's only temporary, once this deviant shit is fixed, I am back to working' with humans okay?" I turn back to my father and smell the alcohol on his breath.

"Dad! You have been drinking again, where is the whiskey?" I ask firmly. Heading into the kitchen, I rummage through the cabinets and pull out a half empty bottle of Hennessy, "hey Connor, do you drink?" tossing Connor the bottle, he looks to my father, a puzzled expression on his face,

"I-I don't, it is not necessary for an android to drink, but I would like to try one day" he holds out the bottle and I take it back from him, opening the cap, I take a swig before screwing it closed and putting it away

"You're not supposed to be drinking!" I point at my father who folds his arms across his chest defensively, I glance once more at the android in the kitchen and brush past him back into the living room.
