Learning skills and showing off

Start from the beginning

You repeated this move over and over, this time he stopped helping you. And so you kept falling under his weight every time. Good thing he was quick enough to get out of the way before he could crush you.
After a few hours, you finally managed to do it properly, but before you could even say 'WOOO!' your legs gave up on you and you fell beside him. You both laughed.
"You see (Y/n)." he stood up and looked down at you, his hands on his knees. "The right training can give strength to anyone."
He offered you his hand, you smiled.
"Yeah, I get it!"
You took his hand and he helped you up. Then he gave you a towel, you took it and put it around your shoulders.
"Does that mean I could someday beat you?"
He laughed.
"I'm not so sure about that!"
"Oh come on~!"

The two of you walked out to grab something to drink.
"Ah! And here is the Strongest Primate High-schooler Tsukasa! With him the CEO of entertainment and performer (Y/n)!"
You looked over to see Minami rushing over to you both. She was holding the newest voice recorder the science team gave her so she could report on the journey to America.
"Why don't you tell us your role on this ship." she pointed to mic towards you.

"Once we revive scores of people," Tsukasa said, his serious face on. "guns may come back into play. Some people will once again scheme to exploit and profit off others. I cannot allow that. They will not defile science with blood. Yes, that is now my role in all this." he paused. "Oh, and I also vowed to train (Y/n)."
"Hello!" you waved at the mic without really thinking on how silly that made you look. "I'm still the CEO, I just need to do some changes to myself. I wanna become stronger!"
You raised your arm to show your almost non-existent biceps, which made Tsukasa chuckled.
"Me and the listeners are cheering you on!" Minami said.
"Thank you~. Wait, what listener?" you laughed.
"The future generations!"
"Oh my god~." you held your cheeks. "My future children!"

As you said bye to the reporter, you heard people arguing up in the control room. Curious, you went to check it out. Senku and Ryusui were arguing about something, and it seemed serious.
"What's happening?" you whispered to Gen.
"Senku-chan wants to take the quickest route to America. While Ryusui-chan wants to take the normal route." he explained. "They were throwing fists before Taiju separated them."
"Rhumb line route! 70 days!" Ryusui exclaimed. "Great-Circle sailing demands constant adjustment of bearing based on current position! It's the toughest route you can chart and it'll be a huge burden on our sailors!"
"Nah! Great-Circle route! 40 days!" Senku glared at him.
'That's a huge difference!' you thought. 'That's a month!'

"As crappy as it is, we've got ol' professor GPS on this ship of science!" he kept going. "By linking up with Ruri and everyone in Japan, my way is ten billion percent doable!"
"They might have some training, but our sailors are still amateurs, and armchair arguments won't conquer the pacific! This will take 70 days! As a man of the sea, I'm just being realistic, is that wrong?!"
"The yellow dent corn," Senku spoke in a calmer voice. "we won't make it in time. After a leisurely 70-day trip, we hit winter and time's up. Then we're stuck in the U.S, wasting a whole year of valuable time in the fight against Why-man. It's gotta be 40 days." he paused, looking into Ryusui's eyes. "As a scientist, I'm just being logical. Is that wrong?"

As they both fell silent, you sighed.
'They both have good points.'
"...We'll have to double everyone's rations." Ryu eventually said.
"No problem there."
"That shaves off ten days. But we can't go any lower than that!" he folded his arms. "So if you keep insisting, I'll have to stand up for our crew's rights. Even if it means opposing you, Senku."
"Forty days. That's our time limit."

An expression of rage formed on Ryu's face, which you found understandable. But you let out a cry of shock when he torn off his clothes in anger and was left butt naked.
"WOH!" you shouted, your face red.
"Looks like it's on!" Senku took his shirt off, looking hyped.
"We're doing this!"
"WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!"
You both wanted and not wanted to look away.

The two young men stood side by side, calm and collected, wearing couture suits as everyone looked on. Ready for a poker face off.
"Why obsess over the fancy clothes moron?" Senku asked.
"Hahaha! Isn't it obvious?" Ryu raised an eyebrow. "We have to show our audience that this is a formal affair! That way, they'll be inclined to obey the winner, who will obviously be me!"
They both took a seat at the poker table.
"'Sup gents!" you said, smoothly shuffling the cards with a smirk like you were showing off (you were). "I'll be your dealer tonight, so don't you go pull any funny business." you pointed at each of the boys as you laid the cards down in a line. "Unless it's really cool, or hilarious. Those are the rules!"

"Sorry I'm late~!" Gen sat beside Ryu. "Sorry Senku-chan, I'm afraid I must align with Ryusui this time!"
"This quack mentalist is ten billion percent gonna cheat!" Senku exclaimed.
"Yeah that's the point!" you mumbled.
"We can't have lopsided teams." Kohaku said as she sat beside Senku. "So I assume there's no problem if I join Senku?"
"Sure, it's open table tonight!" you took the cards back in your hand. "Let's go!"
"Before we start, I'm just curious." Gen leaned over. "Whose side are you on (Y/n)-chan?"
"Senku's." you said, without looking up. "We've been through hard work before, I think we can also manage this time."
"But who do you think is going to win?"
"..." you froze for a short second, being reminded of Senku's horrible luck.
Gen laughed and you kept shuffling, then giving the players their cards.

"Another thing," Ryu said. "I didn't know you were a skillful dealer (Y/n)."
"Yeah, where did you learn to shuffle? Took me a long time to be good at it myself." Gen said.
"Flattery won't get you anywhere." Senku mumbled, glaring at his opponents.
"Funny story actually." you said. "Middle school. There was this guy in my class who had a dad who was working in robotics, and he had this robot-thing Senku needed for his experiment at the moment."
"What does that have to do with...?" Kohaku asked.
"I'm getting there - So the guy in my class, he was a huge fan of gamble. And so Senku and I organized this underground poker championship in the school's basement. And I was a dealer so we could take part in some good ol' cheating. And so when the guy got huge debts, we bargained a bit and we got the robot-thing!" you rested your chin on the palm of your hand. "And get this: my stupid 13 year old self thought it was mandatory for a dealer to be expert in card tricks, so I didn't slept for a whole week, practicing that shit non-stop!" you laughed at the memory.

A moment of silence passed, everyone looked at you with big eyes, Senku casually kept looking at his cards though (and from the look on his face, it wasn't a good hand).
"Sometimes I think you guys' lives were even more exciting before all of this." Gen said.
"Mmh, maybe." you shrugged.

"But wait!" Kohaku said. "What tells us you won't cheat? You do believe Ryusui is going to win."
"You only have my word. I swear it on my honor." you placed a hand on your chest. "Plus, with your eyesight, you'll see if I'm cheating or not."
"Oh, right."
"Then why did you volunteer with so much enthusiasm?" Gen asked, leaning on his elbow which was resting on the table.
"Because I like shuffling cards, it makes me feel cool."
"Sure." he simply said with a sly smile.

Indeed, he knew the real reason why you wanted to take part in this.
'Front row baby!!!' you thought, looking over at the male players. 'Nothing hotter than a guy in a suit!'
"Alright, let the face down Senku vs. Ryusui begin!"
