S O P H I E M A R T E L L lived a relatively mundane life. Her days dragged on and were overall, completely uninteresting, but the girl didn't really mind. She was just trying to make ends meet, which was why she had taken on a job as a delivery girl for Domino's pizza.
D E L I V E R I N G P I Z Z A S wasn't the most interesting job - bread, cheese and tomato sauce could only thrill a girl so much - but one night when Sophie visits the Goodman residence and meets the family's two sons and their eccentric neighbour, Jim, she (for reasons unbeknownst to her) receives an invitation to attend the following week's friday night dinner from Jackie, mother of the household.
W H A T S O P H I E had expected to be a pleasant, sit-down meal, turned out to be a hectic evening full of Martin Goodman's shirtless antics, Adam and Jonny's incessant salting of each other's drinks, Jackie desperately desiring a quiet night - she would have had one if she had had girls - and surprise visits from Jim the neighbour and his adorable dog Wilson, whom he was inexplicably petrified of.
W I T H T H E G O O D M A N S , there was no way of predicting what disasters would ensue the following week. Would things turn out positively in the end or would irreparable damage be done? It was often the latter. There was only one thing to do and Sophie's favourite band, the Arctic Monkeys, summed it up perfectly: suck it and see... you never know!
